PB hotel design editorial

Few addresses in Milan carry the symbolic weight of Via Tommaso Grossi, where a palazzo completed in 1875 by G.B. Torretta was built in the same breath as the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II next door — that cathedral of commerce whose iron-and-glass vault defined a city's ambitions. Park Hyatt Milano, which opened in 2003 as Italy's first Hyatt property, was fitted into this six-floor neoclassical building by Ed Tuttle, the American designer long associated with Amanresorts, who brought to the 108 rooms and 25 suites a restrained palette of travertine, warm timbers, and ivory plaster that let the architecture speak without interruption. His most deliberate gesture was the nearly nine-meter glass cupola crowning the La Cupola lobby lounge — a direct conversation with the Galleria's vault, visible from certain rooms where the arched ironwork fills the window frame like a painting. A post-2022 renovation by Flaviano Capriotti Architetti refreshed the guest rooms and suites while preserving Tuttle's tonal logic: the rooms now carry blush-toned artworks, pale oak flooring, and ceramic lamp bases in the manner of Italian studio craft, quieter but no less considered. The bar counter, clad in deep verde marble and canopied by a ceiling of clustered amber glass discs, holds its own theatricality against the dining room's bold geometric carpet in forest green and terracotta, its column sheathed in ribbed bronze mesh. The effect across the property is one of a building that was always meant to be exactly this.

"Our experience at Park Hyatt Milan was nothing short of incredible. We arrived early, but we were able to get a room quickly and upgraded to a huge suite. Shortly, after checking in, a staff member stopped in to bring us a nice note, extra waters, fruits, and delicious sweets. We were incredibly impressed with the staff, all of whom were so kind and helpful. Even though we had a short one night stay, we were impressed and will definitely choose this hotel if we are ever in Milan again."

"From the moment I arrived at Park Hyatt Milan, the experience exceeded every expectation I had. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, but what truly made my stay exceptional was the level of service, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality from the entire team. The location could not be more perfect—right in the heart of Milan and steps away from the Galleria and Duomo—yet once inside, the hotel feels intimate, peaceful, and incredibly luxurious. My room was beautiful, spacious, and thoughtfully appointed, and every detail throughout my stay felt intentional. The team went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed and cared for, and it never felt forced or overly formal. It was simply exceptional hospitality. I’ve stayed at many beautiful hotels while traveling, but Park Hyatt Milan truly stood out. It wasn’t just a beautiful property—it was an experience. They managed to make an already special trip feel even more memorable. I left genuinely impressed and already looking forward to returning. If you’re considering Park Hyatt Milan, book it. It was beyond my expectations and easily one of the highlights of my time in Milan. 5 stars without hesitation."

"the park hyatt Milan is exceptional. the hotel is beautiful and new. the rooms are well kept. this is a true luxury hotel. you are located right near the galleria. the location is wonderful. the suites are beautiful. the breakfast is magnificent. service is a 10/10. there are only 3 things i would make as suggestions. 1) they should figure out how to add a dry sauna to the spa area. 2) they should switch back to Le Labo soap products like other park Hyatts use. 3) to to make the hot tub hotter. our room was clean and new. the bed was great. shower pressure was great in one room the other was weak. the staff at the breakfast was inviting and nice. they remembered how we like our coffee with is an example of a great hotel in my opinion. the concierge was great. they arranged a car to take us shopping at a nearby outlets.... and helped get us back to the airport. they also made us appointments at some stores so we didn't have to wait on a line to get in. overall i would say as a globalist i was very happy and would go back again."
