PB hotel design editorial

Along Corso Vittorio Emanuele, the elevated boulevard that cuts through Naples' Vomero hill above the gulf, a terracotta-pink palazzo dating to the late nineteenth century carries the confident cornice lines and arched window surrounds of Neapolitan Liberty architecture — and at its centre, inserted without apology, a six-storey curtain of blue-tinted glass that announces the building's conversion into De Bonart Naples, part of Hilton's Curio Collection. The intervention is deliberately legible, refusing to pretend the old and new are the same thing, while the roofline addition — a fully glazed pavilion visible from the images above, topped by a pitched steel-and-glass structure — turns what might have been an awkward attic floor into the property's most commanding space. Inside, the 128 rooms navigate between two registers: some deploy sage-green panelling, dark-framed four-poster beds over herringbone parquet, and wrought-iron balcony railings that frame views across the city toward Vesuvius; others shift to an all-ivory palette of moulded boiserie, quilted velvet seating, and floor-to-ceiling steel-framed windows that dissolve the wall between room and roofscape. The rooftop restaurant, framed by its pitched glass canopy, hangs a woven-reed chandelier above polished dark stone floors — a piece of craft against an otherwise spare interior. The terrace beyond, furnished with rope-woven chairs in cream and teak alongside potted olive trees, gives the hotel its most characteristically Neapolitan moment: a city of extraordinary density, held at arm's length by the view.

"this is a painful review to write - the entire evaluation is written through the lens of the price - I consider the price to be way way way too much money for what was delivered. The hotel is in a nice building, nicely finished, rooms are ok, a little quirky in terms of layout. Location in my opinion is awful - it's not near anything you want to visit - and it's uphill/downhill to walk anywhere. the bedding quality was awful - it felt like bad quality toilet paper and the pillows were flat, hard and uncomfortable. the view from the rooms was stunningly good, food was ok, included breakfast was quite good, lunch was not good, but maybe it wasn't simply to my taste. If this hotel had been cheaper per-night this review may have had a higher rating, but the combination of disappointments (bedding quality), location, and the exorbitant cost make this hotel a no-repeat hotel if I'm ever back in Naples. it tried really really hard to be high end but at the end of the day it's simply a poser and empties your wallet. save your money or even spend more money, but stay some where else in Naples."

"De Bonart Naples, Curio Collection by Hilton Our stay at De Bonart Naples, Curio Collection by Hilton was nothing short of exceptional — a truly luxurious and memorable experience from beginning to end. This is genuine five-star hospitality in every sense, combining elegance, warmth, comfort and some of the most breathtaking views imaginable over the Bay of Naples. The hotel itself is stunning, with beautifully appointed and remarkably spacious rooms that immediately feel refined yet welcoming. The beds were exceptionally comfortable — the kind you sink into after a long day exploring Naples — with premium linens and an atmosphere of complete tranquillity. The bathroom amenities were equally impressive, luxurious and thoughtfully curated, adding to the feeling of indulgence throughout the stay. What absolutely sets this hotel apart, however, is the view. From our room and particularly from the spectacular rooftop bar, we enjoyed panoramic vistas across the entirety of Naples, stretching all the way to Sorrento and the coastline beyond. Watching the sun set over the bay with a cocktail in hand was unforgettable. The location is also excellent — peaceful and elevated above the bustle, yet still within walking distance of the historic centre and approximately 40 minutes on foot to Castel dell'Ovo. The staff were simply outstanding and delivered some of the best service we have experienced anywhere in the world. Carlo deserves special recognition — he was incredibly helpful prior to our arrival, ensuring everything was perfectly arranged, and it was such a pleasure to finally meet him at check-in. His professionalism and genuine warmth immediately made us feel valued and welcomed. Angelo went above and beyond by organising a beautiful breakfast box for our very early morning departure, an incredibly thoughtful gesture that perfectly reflected the hotel’s attention to detail and guest care. Returning to the room to find a personalised birthday note from Miriam was another wonderful touch that made the stay feel truly special and personal. We also highly recommend using the hotel’s valet service if arriving by car. It was seamless, professional and surprisingly excellent value — in fact, cheaper and far more convenient than arranging a taxi to the airport. Every aspect of our stay felt polished, thoughtful and deeply luxurious. De Bonart Naples, Curio Collection by Hilton delivers not only stunning accommodation and world-class views, but also a level of personalised service that is increasingly rare. We would return without hesitation."

"Wow what a Hotel, what a view! This Hotel is wonderful. The rooms are spacious, clean, well kept and have very comfy beds. The staff are wonderful, incredibly helpful and nothing felt too much trouble. Breakfast was delicious and having it on the roof top outside was so lovely. The views across the harbour are breathtaking and sitting in the bar or restaurant feels so special with these views surrounding you. I would highly recommend this hotel, it isn’t greatly central but just a short taxi drive into the main area and its facilities make it worth being that bit further out. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay and I do hope to return!"
