PB hotel design editorial

Carved from an eighteenth-century aristocratic palazzo in the heart of Lecce's baroque old town, La Fiermontina Palazzo Bozzi Corso draws its character from one of the most distinctive building traditions in southern Italy — the use of pietra leccese, the warm golden limestone that gives this city its extraordinary architectural coherence. The entrance courtyard, framed by groin-vaulted arches and elaborately carved surrounds, survives intact from the original Bozzi Corso family residence, and the decision to leave it largely untouched was the correct one: no contemporary intervention could have matched what centuries of Salentine craftsmen deposited there. Inside, the interiors navigate a conversation between the palazzo's high ceilings, original panelled doors, and barrel-vaulted plasterwork on one hand, and a quietly contemporary sensibility on the other. Guestrooms in the more restored wing favour warm taupe plaster walls, herringbone oak floors, and softly sculptural upholstery — rounded club chairs and curved sofas in bouclé — while rooms in the historic core retain their elaborate cornice mouldings and period proportions, furnished with dark leather beds and black-lacquered furniture paired with figurative contemporary artwork. The rooftop terrace, where a slim pool is set against Lecce's ancient roofline at dusk, distils the property's central ambition: to place something genuinely modern within a fabric so old and so particular that the contrast itself becomes pleasurable rather than jarring.

La Fiermontina Palazzo Bozzi Corso Reviews

"We spent six nights at La Fiermontina and loved every moment. This was a great base to stay and explore Puglia. The staff and their service were exceptional — a huge thank you to Mathias, Sam, Sara, and the two Ms for looking after us. We appreciate your assistance with our special requests, nothing was too much trouble, and the restaurant recommendations and tips for our drives around Puglia really helped us experience the best of the region. Our room was next to the beautiful garden where breakfast was served each morning. We loved our lazy siestas with the bathroom door fully open to take in the garden view. The sunsets from the rooftop were spectacular — we took so many photos of the golden light over Lecce! We also really enjoyed spending time in the rooms upstairs surrounded by all the art — everything felt relaxed, stylish, and full of character. We would highly recommend La Fiermontina — your home away from home in Lecce."

"The Bozzi Corso is one of the finest properties we have ever experienced, only to be exceeded by its amazing staff! The hotel is located on one of the main streets in Lecce, but once we entered the private courtyard, it was like being in a different world with artwork scattered throughout the property. The staff greeted us on arrival and made us feel like family during our entire visit . Our room was spacious and comfortable with a large bathroom that was well lighted ( apparently something important to my wife) Breakfast in the garden was a morning treat, with fresh fruit, local pastries, and excellent cappuccino by Iman. The beautiful rooftop bar was an afternoon ritual with mixologist Aldo and his creative cocktails. Another enhancement to staying at Bozzi Corso is access to the other La Fiermontina properties located a few minutes easy walk. Dinner at their Zephyr restaurant, in the garden among the ancient olive and citrus trees, was a special experience. Although I'm not usually interested in art museums, I highly recommend taking advantage of the private tour... an incredible story. From either property, old town Lecce is easily walkable with numerous bars, restaurants and ample shopping. The staff arranged a private walking tour for us, and our guide, Gabriella, was a real expert on the city history and culture. Another special experience arranged by the staff was a cooking class by Livio, a fun and educational hands-on cooking and eating afternoon. Without exception, every staff member happily provided excellent service, with Sarah being the true ambassador of the property and Lecce. The best hotel experience in Lecce!"

"We stayed in the Lady Astor Suite for 4 nights in July 2025 and couldn’t have been more pleased with our stay. The room is very grand and luxuriously appointed, with a very comfy bed and good pillows. I especially loved sitting in the historic marble vanity area to put on my makeup every day. The entire hotel is a treat to stay in; you really feel like you’ve gone back in time and are a house guest in an ornate palazzo. But the most memorable part of our stay was how friendly and helpful all of the staff were. Sarah in reception helped us with numerous reservations, Aldo at the rooftop bar made us delicious craft cocktails every night, and our server (whose name I forgot to ask) at their delicious breakfast was always a charming, bright start to our day. Finally, the porters were all so quick and friendly about getting our car for us — it made taking little beach trips in the area so easy. We would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting Lecce."

"There is nothing special to say about the rooftop bar. Yes, it has a view but not spectacular. The only thing that was spectacular was the price of a cocktail at 25 Euro each. The entrance to the building is magnificent but you can just see that from the street."
