PB hotel design editorial

Carved from a monumental early twentieth-century palazzo on Via San Basilio, just off the Via Veneto in Rome's Ludovisi district, the building that houses the Aleph Rome Hotel carries its institutional past plainly on its facade — the inscription Dovere Virtù Sia Il Lavoro still cut into the stone above the rusticated ground floor, pilasters rising through two upper storeys to a heavily corniced roofline. The building served as the headquarters of a bank before its conversion into a hotel, and that civic seriousness still governs the exterior's neoclassical massing, while the interiors strike a deliberately different register: contemporary Roman glamour, all Carrara marble flooring, sculpted wave ceilings with cove lighting, and upholstered headboards in cream and greige velvet rising to the full height of each guestroom wall. The bar is the interior's most confident gesture — a backlit green onyx counter that glows with a mineral warmth, paired with cream leather stools and globe pendants suspended at varying heights over marble-veined flooring in pale grey and celadon. Artwork panels mimicking agate cross-sections hang between panelled walls in the same acid-yellow-green register, creating a space that feels less like hotel bar and more like a Roman jewel box. Above it all, the rooftop terrace plants mature olive trees in stone vessels alongside rattan cabana daybeds and white modular seating, with views that confirm the neighbourhood's quiet prestige.

Aleph Rome Hotel, Curio Collection By Hilton Reviews

"We stayed for three nights with a total party of nine people over four rooms. Rooms, service, and staff were all fantastic with no problems encountered at all. Each staff member was engaging, professional and courteous. Service support for breakfast and lobby drinks was beyond terrific and meet our needs quickly and efficiently. The hotel location is central to Rome with only a few minute walk to Piazza Barberini. Quiet street made for a good night’s rest. The front desk made several suggestions for nearby restaurants which we took and enjoyed thoroughly. All in all, we can’t wait to return."

"Overall hotel is first class in every way. Can’t say enough good things about this place. Amazing service, rooms are phenomenal, the breakfast was outstanding every morning. I’d like to thank the entire staff especially Carmela. From our initial arrival and throughout our stay she made our 30th anniversary celebration stay very special. She was so friendly, kind, and a joy to talk to every day. Thank you so much!"

"We had somewhat of a glitch on check in; which was very quickly and happily resolved. I have found the hotel to be extremely well run and the staff are all SUPERB!! They have helped us in everything we have done, and it has been greatly appreciated. Breakfast was full this morning, and we waited around 10 minutes (in fairness for a table of 6) and even that was handled in a classy manner with us being comfortably seated and brought coffee whilst we waited. Would certainly come again."
