PB hotel design editorial

Gaetano Koch's great curved facade on Piazza della Repubblica — one of the defining gestures of post-Unification Rome, completed in 1898 as part of the sweeping Esedra development that reordered the city's approach to Termini — frames the Anantara Palazzo Naiadi with a civic grandeur that no amount of hotel branding can diminish. The building's travertine-pale limestone arcade, its cornice enriched with allegorical sculpture, and the Fountain of the Naiads churning in the foreground together create an address whose architectural weight is earned rather than performed. Inside, the 238 rooms carry that weight without buckling under it. Broad-striped silk wallcoverings in tobacco and champagne tones run floor to plaster cornice, the elaborate white stucco enrichment overhead making a quiet but firm argument for period continuity. Crocodile-embossed leather headboards and Louis XVI-style painted chairs with nailhead detailing furnish the guestrooms in a register that defers to the palazzo's bones. The rooftop infinity pool, positioned to pull the Vittoriano monument and the pines of the Borghese into its sightline, makes the building's urban position feel almost impossible — a reminder that Koch's envelope was always designed to command views as much as receive them. Down at courtyard level, a retractable-roofed restaurant wraps its dining room in dense planted walls, bistro cane chairs, and green velvet banquettes, finding a livelier, more contemporary note within the same historic shell.

Anantara Palazzo Naiadi Rome Reviews

"While I did not stay overnight in a room this time, my experience as a GHA Titanium member showed exactly what true 5-star hospitality looks like. Following a poor experience at another nearby property, I decided to start my morning with breakfast at Anantara Palazzo Naiadi, and later returned for drinks and snacks in the afternoon. From the start, everything was seamless. I called the hotel ahead, smoothly secured a table, and was treated to an exceptional breakfast experience. The variety of food was fantastic, and the service was fast, professional, and genuinely attentive. We later returned for afternoon cocktails and snacks at the bar, and the high standard of service continued. Special recognition goes to Samuele, our server, whose professionalism and extra effort truly elevated the experience. It is entirely obvious that our next overnight stay in Rome will be right here at Anantara."

"I cannot express how wonderful this hotel was from the minute you walk in the door. The hospitality was incredible. Gemma showed us to our room and checked on us throughout our stay. She even ran after us to give me and my daughter departing gifts to remember our stay. Valentina in the concierge was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. She gave us great recommendations of where to go and eat and helping us with anything we needed. Salvatore was also wonderful in the concierge. The breakfast buffet I have never seen before. It was so extensive from fruit, yogurt, hot food, cheeses, meats, lunch style foods like salad, desserts etc. Marco and Silvia went out of their way to treat us like princesses. You can even order off of an extensive breakfast menu as well. The coffee can be prepared however you would like. They even have every type of milk! I can continue to go on. It was unbelievable. The hotel is very clean and our room was serviced each day with fresh linens etc. This hotel is in a great location as well. Walkable to the coliseum and many shops and restaurants. The town of Monti is right there and a great place to eat and shop. Go to this hotel!!!!"
