PB hotel design editorial

Spread across a working masseria in the Val di Noto, where citrus groves and olive trees stretch to the low hills of southeastern Sicily's UNESCO-listed baroque heartland, Il San Corrado di Noto translates the logic of agricultural estate architecture into a contemporary resort without abandoning the grammar of the land. Terracotta-tiled roofs pitched at a traditional angle, whitewashed render, and low-slung pavilion wings arranged around a generous rectangular pool give the compound the unhurried geometry of a Sicilian country estate — the aerial view confirms a courtyard organization that would have been familiar to any nineteenth-century masseria owner, even if the cantilevered pool cabanas and sun lounger rows announce something more recent. The interiors navigate the same tension between vernacular warmth and polished hospitality with reasonable confidence. Guest rooms carry dark-framed four-poster beds dressed in white voile, warm walnut flooring that meets limestone tile at the threshold — a detail visible in both room images — and ceiling fans that lean into the Mediterranean-colonial register rather than fighting it. The restaurant takes a more assertive position: deep-buttoned forest-green velvet banquettes, dark-wood tables, and coffered ceiling panels inlaid with decorative tile motifs pull the dining room toward a clubbier, more European luxury idiom, anchored by a large-format blue cityscape painting that reads as a nod to Noto itself. At dusk, a long infinity lap pool flanked by Phoenix palms and illuminated banana plants gives the grounds a cinematic stillness that the surrounding groves make entirely earned.

Il San Corrado di Noto Reviews

"We just completed a three day stay and hated to leave. This is a spacious and meticulously cared for property. We stayed in a large well appointed suite with every amenity. The staff is friendly, attentive and professional. All requests were responded to quickly and completely. The two pools are beautiful and unique. The food in both the fine dining restaurant and the more informal poolside restaurant were outstanding. I wouldn’t change anything. The only possible downside is that they are not in Noto itself so you need to get in a car to go anywhere. But it is a relatively short drive to Ragusa and Modica and about 90 minutes to Siracusa so if you have a car you can visit all 3, as we did."

"We have been here formthe 2nd time now, this time with a small group of friend with 3 Suites next to each other. Overwhelming again! The Hotel Place plays in the highest leage in all aspects. The mix of simplicity and luxury maxes it a unique hideway with the city of Noto and the other baroque heritages still within reach. The 2 Pools have to been to be believed! Mattia and his crew from the Pool Restaurant are the best. Both lunches and dinner were always perfect. Just go for it, the price is also champions league definitely worth it."

"First come overall, while the hotel is expensive it is a really good value for what you’re paying. Second, the entry-level room is a suite. It is spacious in the bathroom is next to none. Second, the staff is one of the best I have ever encountered. They are extremely attentive and friendly. The hotel is beautiful. The two pools are picture ask. If I have a chance of staying at this hotel in the future, I definitely will. Finally, the restaurant is next to none. We had one of our best meals ever."
