PB hotel design editorial

A turn-of-the-century Liberty-style villa set just a short walk from the Tyrrhenian shore in Forte dei Marmi, the kind of Tuscan resort town where Milanese and Florentine families have kept summer houses for generations — this is the building that Hotel Byron has called home since its establishment on the Versilian coast. The ochre-rendered facade with its dark-shuttered windows, terracotta roof, and wrought-iron balcony rail carries the unhurried confidence of a private residence rather than a commercial property, an impression the Apuanian Alps visible on the inland horizon only deepens at dusk. Inside, the interiors work across two distinct registers. One set of rooms deploys a platinum and champagne palette — upholstered headboards in pale linen, geometric quilting in taupe and copper, brass-finialled floor lamps, and circular wall-mounted mirrors bisected into tonal halves — landing somewhere between refined Italian modernism and French Art Deco revival. Another leans into saturated aquamarine: deep teal velvet pod chairs with white piping, juju hat wall pieces in dove grey, and curtains in a cobalt linen that animate the dark-stained timber floors. The restaurant pavilion bridges the two, a glass-and-steel enclosure opening directly onto a teak deck where turquoise and chartreuse seating clusters around a circular dark-tiled plunge pool, the Tyrrhenian visible just beyond the umbrella pines.

Hotel Byron Reviews

"Just spent 4 nights at the Byron and it was amazing!! Great location, directly across from beach and 5 minute bike ride to town. The hotel was redone recently (?) and it’s in impeccable condition. Very tasteful decor , modern contemporary vibe. Our room was in the newer building and was beautiful. Spacious, great layout, modern, very comfortable bed and linens and towels. Large balcony. Great coffee machine. The bathroom was lovely with separate toilet and bidet. Great A/C. The only thing that didn’t make sense about the room is that the balcony door has to be kept in a locked position for the AC to work. So when my husband was in the balcony and I was in the room, I had to lock him out for the AC to stay on, Lol. Not very logical. The breakfast buffet was lovely with good selection, and could gets eggs to order from the kitchen. Service was superb, shout-out to Siham who was so lovely, warm, helpful and amazing. The service at front desk was also excellent, they helped us arrange a driver to PietroSanta and to a great hike we did in the mountains. Once I needed a steamer for my clothes and they brought it to my room within minutes. There are many many bikes out front at your disposal which we used freely around Forte. The pool at Byron is also very nice with a nice restaurant , but we mostly stayed at the beach club right across the street at Bagno Vittoria. Overall we truly enjoyed our stay at the Byron, it is the perfect place to stay in Forte. Highly recommend it, you won’t be disappointed."

"I have never before written a review WHILE still in the midst of visiting, but my experience at the Byron has been so exceptional that I wanted to write it contemporaneously. It is not that it was perfect: a blackout, no a/c, a generator that worked for the kitchen but not the rooms. But it is how the hotel staff, and the GM Nola in particular, stayed calm, answered questions, kept informed, that speaks to how they care about their guests. My wife took ill from the heat, they found a local doctor. All this speaks volumes about how they care. I will add the staff at breakfast, Eliza and Siham(I might be misspelling) are so warm and welcoming and helpful, you really feel a genuine caring."
