"Borgo Santo Pietro is unquestionably one of the most beautiful properties we've ever stayed at. The grounds are breathtaking, the rooms are stunning, and it truly feels like you've stepped into the Tuscan countryside of another era. The bed was incredibly comfortable, breakfast was exceptional, and we loved that it could be enjoyed either in the restaurant or in our room. We also had wonderful dining experiences throughout our stay. Il Saporo was a memorable Michelin-star experience, and Trattoria sull'Albero was equally enjoyable with delicious food, beautiful views, and a relaxed atmosphere. The property itself is fun to explore and has an undeniable sense of magic. Unfortunately, for over $6,500 per night, the overall experience didn't live up to the price. Our air conditioning was broken for three of our five nights. I first called at 2am. Someone attempted a repair, but I woke up two hours later still overheated. We were eventually told the system was broken, and because of a holiday, it couldn't be repaired immediately. A portable cooling unit was brought in, but it barely made a difference. We had to continue following up ourselves before the issue was finally resolved. Ordinarily this would have been frustrating enough, but this trip had originally been planned as our babymoon. Instead, it became a healing trip after we unexpectedly lost our baby just a week and a half before arriving. Sleep was something I desperately needed, and instead I found myself dreading bedtime. While I appreciated the dining credit they offered, it didn't feel proportional given the cost of the room and the impact on more than half of our stay. More disappointing was feeling like I was inconveniencing the staff by repeatedly asking for updates. I know I'm more sensitive to room temperature than some people, but at this price point, a functioning air conditioner shouldn't be a special request. There were several smaller details that also kept the experience from feeling truly 5 star. Amenities felt surprisingly transactional, with charges for nearly everything, even gelato and in-room snacks. The fire pit outside our suite could only be used for a short period before running out of wood (wood service ended around 9pm), and there was no way to dim the bright patio lighting, only turn it off completely. Borgo Santo Pietro is undeniably beautiful, but true luxury is about more than gorgeous surroundings. It's about thoughtful service, attention to detail, and how a hotel responds when things don't go as planned. For us, the service and overall value simply didn't justify the extraordinary price, and while we're glad we experienced it once, we wouldn't choose to stay again."

"Our stay at Borgo Santo Pietro was pure magic. From the moment we arrived, the calm beauty of Tuscany surrounded us. We were upgraded from the Rosmarino Garden Suite to the Casa dei Fiori Bianchi Pool Suite (Casa de Fara)—a secluded haven with a private pool and lavender-scented towels, robes, and bedding that made every detail feel luxurious. Before we even checked in, I mentioned needing a specific mouthwash. The staff found it and had it delivered that same evening—a small act of care that perfectly captures Borgo’s spirit. We took the estate’s bicycles, freely scattered around for guests to use, and explored the gardens filled with lavender, rosemary, and lemon balm. Along the way we saw alpacas, chickens, and rabbits, whose fresh eggs appear at breakfast each morning. Nearly everything served here is grown or produced on-site. Dinner both nights at Trattoria sull’Albero, the “Treehouse,” was unforgettable—soft lantern light, the scent of wood smoke, and soulful Tuscan cuisine at its finest. Borgo Santo Pietro isn’t just a hotel—it’s a living expression of Tuscan grace and sustainability. Every person there radiates warmth and pride. We left restored and already dreaming of our return."
