"I stayed here as part of a 2 month solo Europe trip that I was doing. This was my 3rd stop after Rome and Florence. As soon as I got to the property I knew I was in store for something special. Personally for me I love secluded tucked away vacation spots. This place is all of that. The grounds are amazing and overlooks the countryside and mountains. its a small little place but the staff is amazing and so cool. The restaurant may have been the best thing I have eaten so far in Italy. Not kidding, its that good. Ate there for dinner all 3 nights. Its a full experience. My wife and I arrived after a transatlantic flight, exhausted and jet-lagged, and within moments of pulling up to this stunning 16th-century estate on the Umbria-Tuscany border, something shifted. The rolling countryside, the ancient stone buildings draped in wisteria, the warm and genuinely gracious welcome from the staff — it all washed over us immediately. We had arrived somewhere truly special. We were expecting our first child and this was our last great adventure before our lives change forever. The team at Villa di Piazzano seemed to understand the significance of that without us ever having to say it. Every interaction felt personal, warm and unhurried — the kind of hospitality that can’t be trained, only genuinely felt. The restaurant deserves its own paragraph entirely. Both evenings we dined on the terrace under the covered arbour, surrounded by the sounds of the Umbrian countryside and the warm glow of candlelight. The food was extraordinary — locally sourced, beautifully executed and thoughtfully paired with wines that the sommelier selected with real care and passion. These were among the finest meals of our entire trip to Italy, and we ate very well throughout. We spent one glorious day exploring the hilltop town of Cortona — just fifteen minutes away — before returning to the villa for an evening aperitivo and dinner. The perfect rhythm of a perfect day. We also had the privilege of visiting Braccesca for a wine tour through the Umbrian countryside, which the villa helped facilitate seamlessly. If you are looking for the quintessential romantic Italian escape — countryside, extraordinary food, impeccable service and genuine soul — look no further. "My husband and I eloped at Villa di Piazzano and it was truly the most incredible experience. We kept saying how we felt as if we were living in a dream. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and extremely well kept, the staff was beyond friendly and personable that when we left, so many people said bye and it felt as if we were saying bye to distant friends. Every detail of our stay was well thought out. Our room was extremely quiet and clean. Although the location is tucked away and is more than private, it is only a 15/20 minute drive to Cortona a little city with restaurants, amazing views, and anything you may need.
