"A Hidden Heritage Gem in the Heart of Luang Prabang I almost booked this hotel by accident, and it has turned out to be one of the highlights of my stay in Luang Prabang. I was fortunate enough to stay in Room 1 in Lamache House, one of the three beautifully restored heritage buildings that make up the 3 Nagas Hotel. I hadn’t realized before arriving that the hotel has only 15 rooms, and that small size makes all the difference. It feels intimate, peaceful, and full of character rather than like a typical chain hotel. My room included a lovely private terrace overlooking the street. Although it’s on one of the main roads through the old town, I found it surprisingly peaceful. There was enough activity outside to give the area life and atmosphere, but it was never uncomfortably noisy. The location couldn’t be better. I was able to walk everywhere, from the night market and the Mekong waterfront to countless temples, cafés, and restaurants. For anyone who enjoys exploring on foot, this is an ideal base. What really makes 3 Nagas special is the sense of history. Staying in a beautifully restored heritage building is a completely different experience from staying in a modern hotel. The architecture, wooden details, and overall atmosphere perfectly complement the charm of Luang Prabang itself. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they were able to arrange local excursions such as Kuang Si Waterfalls, the Bear Rescue Centre, and a Mekong sunset cruise, making it very easy to enjoy the area without any hassle. If you’re looking for oversized pools, flashy facilities, and a large resort experience, this probably isn’t the place for you. But if you appreciate history, architecture, walkable neighbourhoods, and boutique hotels with genuine character, I highly recommend 3 Nagas. For me, this felt like discovering one of Luang Prabang’s hidden gems, and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again."

"The location of the hotel is excellent - in the heart of the city and the welcome and service from the staff is very good. My room was on the second floor in the building across the street from the reception and restaurant. The room was disappointing. Some of the reasons for this are to do with the nature of the building and, therefore, perhaps beyond the control of the hotel. For example the room is very dark and creaky (I’d hate to have been in the room under mine!) and there are various steps outside and even inside the room. But the room is not user-friendly. For example, there are no bedside lamps. There was a floor lamp beside my bed but I had to get out of bed to turn it off. The bathroom is old with just an over-bath shower. The room has no TV, probably a deliberate choice by the hotel, but I like my room to have a TV. The only meal I had was breakfast. It was ok - more or less the same as any of the small boutique hotels and guesthouses in the city. If location is a key criterion, this hotel would be a good option."
