From the moment I arrived, I had a feeling this stay would be special. Before I had even reached the entrance, the door was opened with a genuinely warm smile. It may seem like a small gesture, but it set the tone for everything that followed. That same warmth continued throughout my stay. From the check-in, to being personally escorted to my beautiful suite, to every interaction with the restaurant, bar, breakfast, housekeeping and reception teams. The hospitality never felt scripted; it felt sincere. The hotel itself is stunning. Built around beautifully landscaped tropical gardens and an exceptional swimming pool, it offers a peaceful oasis while still being right in the heart of Luang Prabang. Within just a few minutes' walk you can reach the Night Market, the Royal Palace Museum, countless temples, cafés and restaurants. Despite its central location, the hotel feels remarkably calm and secluded. The pool deserves a special mention. In many city hotels, the pool is simply an amenity. Here, it is a destination in itself. It is unusually large for a boutique hotel, beautifully designed, surrounded by lush greenery and an incredibly relaxing place to spend a few hours during the hottest part of the day. I completely understand why it has received recognition as one of the best hotel pools in Laos. The gym is modern, well-equipped and more comprehensive than you would normally expect from a hotel of this size. The spa perfectly complements the overall experience, providing the same calm atmosphere and high level of quality found throughout the property. What impressed me most, however, was how perfectly the hotel reflects the character of Luang Prabang. The architecture, scale, landscaping and overall atmosphere blend seamlessly with the city's unique heritage. It is surprisingly rare to find a hotel that complements its surroundings so naturally. Many luxury hotels could be located almost anywhere in the world; Avani+ feels as though it truly belongs here. My suite was spacious, elegant and extremely comfortable, with everything one could need for a relaxing stay. Breakfast was another highlight, offering an excellent selection of both local and international dishes, all served with genuine warmth and attentiveness. I have travelled extensively and stayed in many outstanding hotels around the world, I have developed a deep appreciation for what separates a good hotel from a truly memorable one. In my humble opinion, Avani+ Luang Prabang excels in every category. Beautiful design, an unbeatable location, outstanding facilities and, above all, exceptional people. It is that combination that creates experiences guests remember long after they have returned home. Having stayed here, I can completely understand why Avani+ Luang Prabang has been recognised as one of the finest hotels in Laos. It is not because of one spectacular feature, but because everything.
