PB hotel design editorial

Rising above Bukit Bintang in a cylindrical tower of fluted bronze-tinted glass, the building that houses The Westin Kuala Lumpur has one of the more recognisable silhouettes on the city's mid-2000s skyline — its rounded form and scalloped crown distinguishing it from the rectangular curtain-wall towers that crowd Jalan Bukit Bintang on either side. The 35-storey structure, which opened in 2004 with 443 rooms, sits at the heart of KL's most concentrated retail and entertainment district, its curved glass podium and canopied porte-cochère stepping back from the street with a quiet formality that the surrounding commercial density makes feel almost measured. Inside, two distinct registers operate in productive tension. The guestrooms carry a clean, considered palette — pale oak flooring, deep magenta rugs, upholstered headboards in warm taupe, and arc floor lamps positioned by floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the city's tower-studded panorama on every floor. The bar strikes an entirely different note: coffered timber ceilings, veined marble tile floors, serpentine lacquered counter, dark leather club chairs, and a floor-to-ceiling glass spirits cabinet that reads as something between a colonial gentlemen's club and a contemporary cocktail lounge. The outdoor pool deck resolves the building's cylindrical geometry at ground level with a circular mosaic-tiled pool shaded by frangipani and tropical plantings, the surrounding stone terrace offering an unexpected pocket of calm within one of Southeast Asia's most kinetic urban neighbourhoods.

"Check In : 07th March Check Out : 09th March First Time Stay Location : The hotel is conveniently located at the very heart of Kuala Lumpur/Bukit Bintang area. I love the convenience it offered. It is located 3 mins walk from Bukit Bintang MRT / Monorail, 5 mins from the busking area, 7 mins from Jalan Alor and 30 secs step to Pavilion Bukit Bintang. There are plethora of eating scenes around the area from local, chinese, middle eastern and international establishment. All in all, it is located within the sweet spot of everything. Reception : The lobby is spotless and clean. I love the Raya decorations and the lighting. The check in was smooth and very quick. Within 5 mins, I got my 2 rooms and blessed with 2 hours early check in. We love how fast everyone is and ready to attend to every guests. They also spoke clearly and attentively to every guests. During my stay, I did went down for some Q&A sessions, promptly answered. Room : The rooms are located at the high levels. I love the view facing Pavilion (which my friend stayed) and my room facing TRX tower. The room is massive, clean and smells really good. Thank you for the welcome snack which I appreciate a lot. The AC works well and the minibar is cold. Generous water bottle provided inside the room. The bathroom is massive. The hot water runs well and the bathtub is a nice touch. All amenities are complete. Since it is located on a high floor, the noise level is reduced 99%. I literally cant hear anything below. Breakfast : The sahur option is plentiful. Salad, Pastry, Chinese, Local, Fruits, Juice and Snacks are open. I dont expect to be served with the same amount of food for breakfast but the served food are more than enough. The prawn is so delicious. The noodle selection is great. But the salad bar really is the winner for Sahur. We all love them so much. Facilities : The elevator works well. The pool is nice. It is also very accessible. It goes from knee level, stomach level to neck level gradually which is good for all ages. Love the pool and the vibe. There are some gazebos in the pool for relaxing. The after pool shower is another level. Deserve a 5 stars just for the shower. There are some leaves inside the pool though, maybe because there is a big tree next to it. Activities : The area is well known for shopping, so a detour to the complex is a must. But since it is conveniently located, we ended up taking the metro to KL Tower and the bazaar at Jalan TAR. Satisfaction : 99.99%. I love everything about the hotel. From the attentive front staff, to the room, pool, facilities and food. I will spread the good word to my friends and hope to stay again in the future."

"It is a plan to have a relaxing trip as I suffered from sports injury and is on wheelchair. Hence the plan is to spend time in the hotel without going anywhere else. Room is well organized with the help from the hotel staff (given an easy access room with tools easy and safe for OKU). Also spent an enjoyable afternoon (started with lunch) at Splash. Worth mentioned Rahmad, who had given us an amazing service throughout the 4 hours experience. Thank you. I will definitely come back again."

"A wonderful experience at the Splash pool thanks to Rahmad from the Westin Kuala Lumpur. His service was truly five-star — attentive, friendly, and always professional. Rahmad went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect, from quick service to checking in to see if we needed anything. It’s staff like him who make a visit memorable. His warm hospitality and genuine care really stood out and made the whole poolside experience even more enjoyable. A big thank you to Rahmad for the excellent service. The Westin Kuala Lumpur is lucky to have such a dedicated and outstanding team member!"

"This hotel is showing its age but a convenient place to stay if you want to spend time in the Golden Triangle area. Can see wear and tear on the carpeting and some of the furniture in the room. Lobby for this hotel seems to be quite dull and clustered as usually Westin lobbies are spacious , airy and with wide open spaces . Food offering at the club lounge during evening cocktails are decent. Also room for improvement on the cleanliness of the eating utensils as can see coffee stain still on the coffee cup and stain on some of the plates. Breakfast spread is wide but quality could be improved as the teh tarik and Nescafé tarik from the container is lukewarm and need to be heated up. Hope the hotel can improve its hardware and offerings in the near future ."
