PB hotel design editorial

Positioned directly opposite the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur's KLCC district, the tower that houses Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur makes its case through proximity to one of the world's most recognisable skylines rather than competing with it architecturally. The 38-storey glass-and-steel structure, part of the broader KLCC development masterplanned in the 1990s alongside Cesar Pelli's twin towers, rises with the straightforward commercial confidence of its era — a pointed crown articulating the roofline, the distinctive petal-shaped porte-cochère at ground level giving the entry sequence an unexpected sculptural flourish visible in the exterior images. Inside, the 571 rooms work a palette of warm amber, terracotta, and sand — walls divided into colour-blocked planes that keep the interiors feeling considered rather than neutral, with striped wool-blend carpeting and low-slung upholstered sofas placed to draw the eye toward floor-to-ceiling windows framing the twin towers directly. The property's most memorable space is the upper-floor swimming pool, enclosed beneath a faceted glass-and-steel roof with angled walls that frame the Petronas towers through full-height glazing — an arrangement that turns a lap pool into an observation deck by a different name. The all-day dining restaurant, Gobo Chit Chat, unfolds beneath a barrel-vaulted ceiling pierced by star-point downlights, its travertine-toned floor and crimson patterned carpet providing the kind of generous volume that Shangri-La's upper-midscale Traders brand deploys to serve its predominantly corporate and conference clientele.

"I had a wonderful stay at Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur. The location is excellent, with beautiful views of the Petronas Twin Towers and easy access to KLCC and nearby attractions. The atmosphere throughout the hotel felt elegant, comfortable, and welcoming. I was super happy with my room and the view - waking upto and sleeping to that view was sooo dreamy!! I truly appreciated that the hotel kindly accommodated us with an early check-in around 10:00 AM, which made our arrival so much easier and more relaxing after a long-haul travelling. A special thank you to Arrif and Yaya for their kindness, professionalism, and genuine hospitality during my stay. Their warm attitude and ever-welcoming presence truly made the experience even more memorable. I would also like to sincerely thank Imran, who always ensured my room was perfectly clean and comfortable. It was such a lovely feeling returning each day to a freshly maintained and crisp room. Loved those pillows which is rare to find in hotels - a perfect balance of medium-hard and soft pillows for a great sleep. The service throughout the hotel was consistently attentive, and the overall experience felt relaxing and refined. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kuala Lumpur."

"We upgraded to the Twin Towers view after surveying a few hotels, and honestly it was worth it. The view was amazing, but what I liked most was that it felt more private and less crowded compared to hanging around KLCC. Nice place to relax, chat, eat, and take pretty photos. Traders Club was a really enjoyable experience too — good food, beautiful view, and no need to queue at busy restaurants. Special thanks to Oliver, the manager, for being so patient and understanding about guests’ needs. His service made us feel very comfortable throughout the stay. Also thanks to all the staff for being friendly and helpful. Definitely good value for the price. Will come back again."

"The staff is unfriendly; you just go out for a smoke and they come running after you over €10. Having a pool right in the middle of the bar is completely pointless. The drinks are bad. It’s not very busy and the music is terrible. Absolutely not recommended—neither the hotel nor the bar"

"We checked out of this hotel on 21st April 2026 (today is 3rd May 2026) I settled my account on leaving as usual. I noticed just 2 or 3 days later that they had not released the holding deposit. I wrote to them by WhatsApp and some of messages in return are just out and out shocking. I want to add that they ARE STILL HOLDING APPROX £300 in pending on my account. They have told me that they monitor this and will advise me when it is being released. The old adage from my university days …. “If it can be monitored it can be managed” comes to mind. These people are actively holding funds on our accounts and then by policy gaslight the public for whatever reason they have. I have irrevocable written proof of this. I have been given numerous excuses/gaslighting but as i write this they are still blocking my account. In the last 18 months or so I have spent some 12 weeks in Shangri-La hotels and am a member of their loyalty scheme. They even had the hard face to blame my bank which is a disgrace at the start of this."
