Every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations—from the personalized assistance with advance dinner reservations and activities, to the beautifully appointed rooms, exceptional amenities, and the overall atmosphere. The hotel even has a signature fragrance that is absolutely wonderful. Our experience began the moment we landed, when we were warmly greeted at the airport by a hotel staff member and driver and escorted in exceptional comfort to the resort. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a refreshing nutmeg drink and given a thoughtful tour of the property. The location is simply unbeatable. Situated in the heart of George Town, we were able to walk almost everywhere we wanted to go. In contrast, several other hotels we had considered were much farther from the historic center, making transportation considerably less convenient. Despite being so close to the city's attractions, the hotel itself is remarkably peaceful. The only sounds we heard were the gentle morning calls to prayer from a nearby mosque, which added to the local ambiance. Our room was exceptionally comfortable and beautifully designed, with every detail thoughtfully considered. The towels and bathrobes were the softest we have ever experienced—I could have happily spent the entire day relaxing in that robe! Breakfast was excellent, with an extensive menu of freshly prepared dishes made to order. We also enjoyed evening cocktails in the hotel's elegant setting. And do not miss the opportunity for a SPA treatment -- I had the best massage I have had in years... What makes Soori Penang especially unique is its history and architecture. The hotel has been beautifully restored by renowned architect Soo K. Chan and is located adjacent to the historic Khoo Kongsi. As guests, we had the rare opportunity to stay within this remarkable heritage setting and visit the Khoo Kongsi at our leisure, making the experience feel truly immersive. Soori Penang offers the perfect combination of luxury, history, impeccable service, and an unbeatable location. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Malaysia, and we would not hesitate to stay there again. A truly special experience in every way."

"I stayed at Soori Penang for two nights on my own and honestly wished I had booked a longer stay. The room was the highlight for me. It was beautifully designed, very spacious, and had a calm, luxurious feel without being over the top. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I really appreciated all the little touches—from the quality toiletries to the well-stocked minibar and thoughtful amenities. It was one of those rooms that you actually looked forward to coming back to after a day out. I even found myself spending a little extra time just relaxing in the room because it felt so comfortable. Breakfast being included was a lovely bonus. Everything I tried was fresh and delicious, and it was such a nice, relaxed way to start the morning before heading out to explore George Town. The location couldn't have been better. I hardly needed transport as so many cafés, restaurants, bars, and heritage streets were just a short walk away. It was easy to spend the day wandering around and discovering something new around every corner. One evening, I decided to have a cocktail at the bar instead of heading out, and I'm glad I did. The drinks were excellent—beautifully crafted and surprisingly good. It was the perfect way to wind down after a day of sightseeing. What I enjoyed most was how comfortable I felt as a solo traveller. The hotel has a boutique feel that's peaceful and welcoming, and the team was warm, attentive, and genuinely hospitable without ever being intrusive. If you're looking for somewhere stylish, well-located, and genuinely comfortable in George Town, I'd definitely recommend Soori Penang. It's the kind of place that makes you want to come back, and I know I will."

"The architecture and building finishes were beautiful and preserved the local cultural integrity.the rooms are the traditional style townhouses with wonderful modern amenities.so spacious and unbelievably wonderful with a sitting room and a reflecting pool.we had breakfast everyday (10 out of 10) and two lunches(also a 10 out of 10).I was returning after an absence of 60 years and was talking to June(staff member)recounting a sweet sour treat that I remembered loving as a child.June said she thought the treat i described might be a sour plum.later that day she brought me some .She continued to pamper and guide us during our stay.shes fantastic! Hassan was also incredibly helpful .he greeted us at the airport upon arrival and continued to check on us during our stay.Also a shout out to their spa and masseuse .i can’t imagine staying anywhere else in Georgetown .The posted star rating is inaccurate ,this is a five star plus property with out a doubt!"
