"Stayed at an amazing beach pool villa, that was impossible to fault. Visited all the restaurants and we were impressed with their very high standards in terms of food quality , variety and service. Hats off to Sato our butler, and to Ms Malati at Isoletta for being so attentive and making us feel at home. Likewise, we noticed a high level of professionalism and training in all our interactions with the property staff. Location wise this is an island resort where you can still feel a real sense of isolation and seclusion. All in all, our expectations were exceeded at Vakkaru, and can't do anything but recommend this resort to those who want to experience the true Maldivian luxury hospitality."

"My husband and I spent six nights at Vakkaru in late July 2026 for our second honeymoon, staying in Beach Pool Villa 116. We had a wonderful holiday and felt that the experience was well worth the price. Our island host, Miyat, was exceptionally pleasant, punctual, polite and helpful throughout our stay. Since our flight arrived early in the morning, we were allowed to check in ahead of the usual time and settle into our villa immediately. On our departure day, our flight from Malé was late in the evening, so Miyat arranged a late check-out and moved us to another villa, where we could rest comfortably until the final seaplane departure. At the airport, we were also provided with lounge access and personal assistance, which made the journey very comfortable. We particularly liked the location of Villa 116 on the diving-centre side of the island. The water entry was gradual, the sand was soft, and this side felt much calmer, with little wind or waves. The highlight of our activities was the manta snorkelling trip. We were fortunate enough to see many mantas, and the whole excursion was organised comfortably and professionally. We also snorkelled several times on the house reef. I would rate it 4.5 out of 5: it is relatively compact, but still very enjoyable and well worth exploring. The island also has well-maintained tennis and padel courts. We did not use them, but only because we were feeling too lazy during our holiday. I visited the spa once and thoroughly enjoyed my massage. We also booked a photo session with the resort photographer. In just 25 minutes, he took plenty of photographs, and we were able to choose ten that we genuinely loved. It was a lovely opportunity to preserve memories of this trip. The resort was also very attentive to my pregnancy. A special pregnancy pillow had been prepared in our villa, and during meals the staff regularly checked how thoroughly I needed my fish and meat to be cooked. These details made me feel well looked after. Overall, we enjoyed the food very much. Vakku, with its beautiful sunset views, impressed us the most. We also had a lovely evening at Onu and found the Pan-Asian dishes very tasty. For lunch, we preferred Lagoon Bar because its menu felt more varied and interesting than that of Isoletta by the pool. Another memorable discovery was the island’s organic farm, where various herbs, vegetables and fruits are grown, including cucumbers. I happened to meet the gardener, who gave me a wonderful personal tour and even presented me with several basil leaves and a cucumber. It is genuinely impressive that the resort maintains this small experimental garden, and I understand that some of its produce is used in the restaurants. A special thank-you and a warm hello to the gardener, if he happens to read this review. We had an excellent stay and hope to return one day with our larger family. Thank you to Miyat, the entire Vakkaru team and the Maldives for giving us such beautiful weather and such a memorable second honeymoon."
