PB hotel design editorial

At the center of Mexico City's Colonia Juárez, an eight-story horseshoe of terracotta and cream wraps around one of the capital's most quietly theatrical interior gardens — a fountain courtyard planted with tropical canopy trees, lit at dusk in amber and gold, that functions as the emotional heart of the Four Seasons Mexico City. The building, completed in 1994 and designed in a neocolonial register that draws on the hacienda tradition, carries the feeling of a colonial palace transplanted into an urban block, its arched arcade at ground level giving way to tier upon tier of arched windows that climb toward a grey-blue sky. The 240 rooms and suites are arranged to look either inward onto this garden or outward toward Paseo de la Reforma. The interiors strike a careful balance between Mexican craft tradition and contemporary hotel comfort. Guest rooms carry ebonized four-poster bed frames against mural-painted headboard panels in muted grey and taupe, custom-woven carpets in cobalt and crimson geometric abstractions anchoring the furniture arrangements. The restaurant spaces are where the design finds its most distinctive voice: encaustic cement floor tiles in a multicolored triangular pattern, teal-painted coffered ceilings, corrugated patinated metal bar fronts, and brass globe pendants pulled from a Parisian brasserie vocabulary but recalibrated for a Mexican sensibility. The courtyard terrace extends this language outdoors, wrought-iron garden chairs and wooden pergolas strung with star-shaped lanterns creating a scene that has made the hotel a gathering point for the city as much as for its guests.

"We had an amazing and very memorable stay at Four Seasons Mexico City. From the moment we arrived, every detail felt thoughtful and well done. The bell staff, the check-in experience, and the customer experience manager all made us feel genuinely welcomed. We were upgraded to a newly renovated suite, and honestly, it was the biggest room we have ever stayed in. The suite was beautiful, spacious, and very comfortable. The welcome surprises throughout the stay made it even more special, from chocolates on the first night to a personalized carrot cake, wine and cheese, and chips and salsa. Breakfast was excellent, with so many options to choose from. We also spent time at the bar on our last night and had a great time. We met their guest bartender, Anteres, who made excellent cocktails and added another memorable touch to the stay. Overall, this was one of those hotel stays that reminds you why Four Seasons is always the first brand we look for when we travel. The room, the service, the food, and all the small details were top notch. Truly a wonderful experience in Mexico City."

"Our stay at the Four Seasons Mexico City was absolutely exceptional from start to finish. This was our first time in Mexico City- we were celebrating my husband's birthday and the team did an excellent job acknowledging that. The property feels like a peaceful oasis right in the heart of the city, with a stunning central courtyard that instantly makes you forget you’re in a bustling urban setting. The hotel is undergoing renovations and we were fortunate to stay in one of the beautifully renovated rooms on the 6th floor. The concierge kindly emailed us prior to our stay regarding the noise/construction. The work starts around 9AM-6PM, but it did not bother us because we were out and about all day. The rooms are beautifully designed—spacious, elegant, and incredibly comfortable (bed, pillows, towels). Every detail felt thoughtfully curated, from the bedding to the amenities. Housekeeping/turn down service was great. What truly sets this hotel apart is the service. Every staff member we encountered was warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our stay memorable. They went above and beyond to accommodate requests and offered fantastic recommendations for dining and exploring the city. *** Shout out to CESAR (GM) for checking in on us multiple times and ORLANDO at Fifty Mils for his knowledge and service. 10/10. *** The location is also ideal—close to Chapultepec Park, great restaurants, and some of the best neighborhoods in Mexico City. After a full day of exploring, coming back to the calm, luxurious atmosphere of the hotel was the perfect reset. We also loved the on-site dining options (Il Becco and Zanaya) both meals were excellent. The overall ambiance of the property—it strikes the perfect balance between sophistication and comfort. We will absolutely be staying here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious, relaxing, and perfectly located stay in Mexico City!"

"We love this property and the charm it has right within the city. We had a great stay and a special shout-out to Agnes, the Chef Concierge, who helped my husband arrange a special outing for Valentine's Day to have breakfast in a cactus field with special chef arrangement to learn about Mexican gastronomy. It was an incredible experience and all thanks to the help of Agnes. Cannot wait to stay here again!"
