PB hotel design editorial

Three linked infinity pools curve through 33 acres of Nayarit jungle before dissolving into 1,850 linear feet of private Pacific beach — that organizational logic, landscape as architecture, defines everything about Susurros del Corazón, Auberge Resorts Collection, which arrived in Punta de Mita in November 2022. Glazier Le Architects conceived the property as a low-rise village of 59 studios, casitas, and suites alongside 30 two-to-five-bedroom villas, each structure rendered in pale stucco and set within dense palms so that the aerial view suggests a settlement that grew here rather than one delivered whole. The massing is deliberately horizontal, deferring to the Sierra Madre foothills rising behind and the open Pacific horizon ahead. Paul Duesing of Paul Duesing Partners handled the interiors, and his approach carries the same restraint as the architecture. Guest rooms are finished in whitewashed wood-plank ceilings, large-format concrete tile floors, and headboards assembled from parquet-cut reclaimed timber — earthy geometry that anchors the otherwise coastal-pale palette. Woven rattan pendants and driftwood chandeliers introduce texture without noise, while ikat-print cushions in amber and teal supply controlled moments of color. The restaurant pulls in a different register: textured plaster walls pierced by a run of arched niches, raw timber ceiling beams, and leather bucket chairs alongside woven seating — the atmosphere closer to a Mexican hacienda dining room than a beach club. Throughout, local craft functions not as decoration but as the actual constructive language of the place.

"The staff were some of the friendliest people ever. We were there during the PV cartel incident and the resort made sure we were well informed, taken care of, and comfortable. Prior to this incident, our stay was amazing...beach is nice and private, service was excellent. The food options were good, but I'll say I enjoyed the buffet options provided(unexpectedly when the resort was under lockdown). I'd recommend they offer more buffet experiences like this! The drinks are a little pricey for what you get, so I'd like to see the cost come down there. Otherwise, an excellent resort, great amenities."

"We stayed for 4 nights in an ocean view room in February. The room was lovely, and we really enjoyed sitting on our patio overlooking the pool & beach. The staff were also so amazing and kind. This hotel would be at the top of our list for our next beach vacation…but not until after construction is complete. They are building a new residences tower, and are not giving guests a heads up before arrival. From the pool you can hear “beep beep beep” and the loud rumblings of construction equipment all day. They are also not using the spa for massages during construction, so you just go to a hotel room to get a massage. The massage was good (even though someone walked into the room during the middle of it), but I missed the full experience of the spa and being able to relax a bit and enjoy the amenities before being rushed outside and having to do math and sign the bill immediately. Also just a note for couples: they have 3 pools 1. Adults only. This one has a swim up bar, and if there is a business group in attendance, this pool can get pretty full and rowdy. This one is furthest away from the beach. 2. Family pool 3. “Relaxation Pool” they allow kids here, but signs say they have to be supervised and it’s supposed to be more chill (no jumping, etc). Unfortunately no one monitors this, so we experienced lots of kids playing, splashing, and even jumping and diving off the rock wall into the pool. Their parents were not with them, and another mom told them NOT to dive, at least. But it was far from relaxing if you wanted some peace and quiet. (Side note: my husband d found the lounge chairs to be very uncomfortable- not enough padding) For us the construction is the real bummer, and we won’t consider going back until it is complete (especially since they are not offering discounts for the disruption). Otherwise we would be giving 5 stars because everything else was top notch!"

"This is by far one of my favorite hotels! It is small, intimate, so well done and the service is impeccable. The beach is one of the nicest in Punta Mita. It is both excellent for couples and for families. Everything seemed peaceful at all times, even with kids around. Can't wait to return and send clients there!"

"This is our second time at the resort in one year. We love the hotel, staff and surrounding towns. We rented a casita on the beach this time with our whole family and it was first class all the way!"
