"We are a senior couple with 40 years of international travel to luxury hotels. First, the service that we received at Maroma, from all personnel including the bellmen, wait staff, housekeeping/turn-down service, beach/pool staff, spa personnel, and our hostesses, was exceptional. Everyone was extremely kind and a pleasure to engage. Second, the room was great, very well-furnished including plenty of closet and dresser space, very comfortable bed, and excellent lighting and temperature controls. The room included daily coffee service, daily water bottled, closet including robes, caftans, slippers, sandals and umbrellas. The turn-down service was exceptional and included bedside water, small pastry, slippers at bedside and any or our loose clothes and bathing suits were put on hangers. Third, the food was also excellent at Freddy's Bar and Casa Mayor with many authentic Mexican dishes. Lastly, the site is beautiful. The hotel building are interlaced with the jungle and beach. Maroma beach is beautiful and well-maintained. The chaises were wide and extremely comfortable. And the Maroma is small and the beach did not feel at all crowded. The pathways through the jungle between buildings are beautiful and lit-up by candles at night. As a non-foodie, my only very small criticism is that the menu options are limited, but again, everything we ate was fresh and delicious."
