PB hotel design editorial

From the upper floors of Royal Mansour Casablanca, the minaret of the Hassan II Mosque rises above the Atlantic horizon at dusk — a view that frames the hotel's central ambition: to plant contemporary Moroccan luxury inside a city better known for its European colonial streetscape than its palatial hospitality tradition. The tower, rising twenty-three floors above the Art Deco district, was designed to hold 111 rooms and suites, its white chamfered facade lit warmly against the purple Casablanca sky in a massing that echoes the stepped modernism of the surrounding 1930s urban fabric without mimicking it directly. Inside, the interiors strike a confident balance between Moroccan craft heritage and an international Art Deco sensibility. The bar is anchored by a monumental onyx counter, backlit through fluted brass panelling, beneath a skylighted atrium hung with sculptural glass pendants suggesting birds in formation — a piece whose organic branching framework contrasts deliberately with the room's strict geometry. Guest rooms layer bookmatched walnut veneer panelling trimmed in brushed brass against geometric diamond-quilted headboards in pale blue-grey leather, the floors punctuated by navy and gold striped rugs. Elsewhere, rooms shift toward deeper aubergine and plum tones, with slab-marble feature walls in swirling breccia and gold-trimmed mesh panel walls. At the rooftop restaurant, woven rattan chairs and pendant candelabra clusters draw the eye outward toward the mosque's floodlit tower — Casablanca's most insistent landmark, visible from almost every table.

Royal Mansour Casablanca Reviews

"I visited Royal Mansour Casablanca with the intention of booking a suite and expected a level of hospitality consistent with the reputation of the establishment. During my interaction at reception, comments were made regarding my appearance and assumptions were drawn before any proper conversation took place. I left disappointed by the experience and hope management addresses this professionally."

"A very plush and tranquil oasis in the heart of Casablanca. I'm still dreaming of the two massages I enjoyed during our one night stay here. I would genuinely return to Casablanca just to experience this wonderful spa again. What truly sets it apart is the genuine care, warmth and thoughtfulness of the entire spa team. Combined with the exceptional quality of the treatments, it places this spa in a league of its own. It was absolutely world class and without question the best spa experience I've ever had. The concierge and his team also went above and beyond securing us tickets to visit the Mosque at the very last minute by sending someone ahead by taxi to purchase the tickets so we didn't have to wait in line. Breakfast was excellent. And the panorama from the stylish rooftop restaurant is spectacular."

"We practically ran to Royal Mansour after the scary Sofitel Casablanca visit. Outstanding reception Mr Ismail immediately attend to us and gives us assurance our stay in Royal Mansour can never be as scary as Sofitel. Indeed! Place is immaculate. Bathrobes, towels are soft and white. Room is elegantly designed, bright and carpets are nice and clean. We had room 1507 when we first checked in on April 28th. The room has wonderful views and they present delicious nuts and very yummy chocolate as a welcome stay. I love their toiletries though I’ve to say their body lotion are very watered down. First day I was here the body lotion was thick, the subsequent ones are so watered down. :) Unfortunately our room 1507 is marred by renovation noise which is quite relentless for several hours in the afternoon, toilet button cannot be flushed properly, and the rain shower fails to work after one day. As we’re coming back again May 15th, I told reception upon checking out pls do not give me back 1507. When we arrive back on May 15th, I was disappointed to be given a different configuration room and a view staring directly at a building. Thought Royal Mansour would have upgraded us after what happened prior. Anyway, I make it a point to express my displeasure to the receptionist who decided to change our room to a better view, though I’ve to say the process was rather painful. I’ve to say their concierge and bellboy are the best and most consistent of all. They are always so smiley and go beyond their way to help. They have a very good 24hr gym. Their indoor swimming pool you’ve to pay 500 MAD to access. Indoor pool length is ~ 18m. But at least you get to swim if you’re desperate like me. Nice temperature too. All guest can use the sauna which is hidden right at the end of the bathroom. Breakfast is excellent and one of the best we’ve been to. Location is good, you can walk to the central market and lots of attraction easily. Overall an excellent hotel. Something they might consider? Please revise your food menu and spa price. They're ridiculously high."

"1st, the property is superb. We had the great, good fortune to meet & visit with the GM, Laurent Roussin, in the lobby at check in. He was warm & interested, exuding all of the qualities you would want from someone in his capacity. There is an opportunity for improvement so that the staff reflects those same qualities. In the end, this is where I would stay every time I come to Casablanca. Fitness center is top notch, restaurants are excellent & the view from the 23rd floor are unbeatable!"

"Definitely the best hotel we have ever stayed in, factoring in what we paid. It is no surprise that the hotel is owned by the king of Morocco. The luxury of the accommodations, the food, the service, the spa were all over-the-top fantastic. I recommend arranging a pickup by the hotel so that you will feel royal from the minute you step out of the airport. Don't miss the HAMMAM and I even did my hair at the salon. The prices are not crazy. The location is great, it is a short walk to the medina. If you are in the market for jewelry, there are some great little stores in the medina, Just know the gram price for gold. There are several restaurants in the hotel that are all different and delicious. Bring some nice clothes because it is a classy place. We hated to leave."
