PB hotel design editorial

Thirteen hectares of the Hivernage district, planted with olive groves, date palms, and bougainvillea cascading over pergola columns, give the Four Seasons Marrakech a spatial generosity that most urban hotels in the city can only approximate. Opened in 2011 and designed across low-rise pavilions that hold to the traditional two-storey register of Moroccan domestic architecture, the property spreads its 141 rooms and suites across gardens planned with the density of a mature park rather than a resort afterthought. The arrival sequence — a long reflecting pool flanked by double rows of Phoenix palms, lit from below at dusk so the water surface turns near-black against gold tadelakt walls — establishes the property's central argument: that Moroccan spatial tradition and contemporary luxury hospitality are not competing propositions. The interiors work in a palette of warm ivory plaster and dark-stained timber four-poster beds draped in white linen, with terracotta and saffron accent cushions providing the colour temperature of a Marrakchi souk without any of the visual noise. Arched windows with geometric lattice detailing frame garden views from each room, while the pool terrace — tiled in variegated green mosaic and edged in pale limestone — draws the landscape into the architecture rather than placing it at a comfortable remove. The poolside bar, sheltered beneath a slatted pergola canopy and framed by ancient olive trees, captures the property's most appealing quality: a sense that the garden has been here considerably longer than the building.

Four Seasons Marrakech Reviews

"We've been lucky enough to stay at quite a few five-star hotels around the world and the Four Seasons Marrakech is right up there with the very best. The hotel itself is stunning. The grounds are immaculate, the gardens are beautifully maintained, the pool and gym are fantastic and every part of the property feels luxurious without being over the top. Our room was spotless every single day and maintained to an incredibly high standard. It's clear that a huge amount of pride goes into every detail - for those who travel a lot you know it’s the little things that make all the difference. What really sets this hotel apart, though, is undoubtedly the people. The hospitality exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, every member of staff made us feel genuinely welcome. Everyone was warm, kind and always willing to go out of their way to help. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble and it was obvious that everyone genuinely cared about making our stay as enjoyable as possible. By way of example, on our first night, Morocco were playing France in the World Cup and the staff went out of their way on short notice to get us jerseys so we had a memory of our stay and to add to experience. A special mention has to go to Amine. I'm not sure if he's the manager or part of the leadership team, but if he isn't, he should be. He leads by example, is incredibly professional and is a fantastic reflection of both the Four Seasons brand and Moroccan hospitality. You can tell the rest of the team really respect him and he made a real difference to our stay. We've stayed in some incredible hotels over the years but this is one we'll remember because of the people. The service was genuinely exceptional and made what was already a beautiful hotel even better. There are many beautiful hotels in Marrakech but I honestly couldn't recommend Four Seasons more highly. If you're sitting at your computer wondering if you should stay here…..just book it, you won't regret it."

"BEYOND FIVE STAR. I truly can’t rave about this place enough. We visited for our eighth wedding anniversary, with our five year old daughter. We booked three nights and then planned to move over to the Oberoi (promises a large room with a private pool 20 mins outside of the city center)…. We transferred to the second hotel and stayed one night, immediately came back to the Four Seasons. We’ve stayed at FS Dubai, Toronto (four or five times), Napa, Palm Beach, Nevis, on and on…. this property tops them all effortlessly. Location is fantastic, rooms are huge (needed when traveling with kids), the pool is massive and so beautiful, breakfast is excellent, the property is maintained wonderfully. And the staff…. the staff really make it. They are EXCELLENT. Front desk, pool staff, concierge, housekeeping, restaurant servers. Go here. You won’t regret it."
