"Worst Marriott Experience I’ve Had As a Marriott Platinum member, this was by far the worst experience I have had at a Marriott property. I chose the W Panama because I had stayed here some time ago and the experience was excellent. My regular hotel in Panama City was fully booked, so based on my previous stay, I expected the W to be a reliable alternative. Unfortunately, the difference between that visit and this one was remarkable. From the moment I arrived, there was no recognition of my Marriott Bonvoy status—not even a simple welcome. The front desk staff were rude and made me feel as though they were doing me a favor by checking me in. To make matters worse, the person handling my check-in apparently registered or identified me as a regular member rather than recognizing my Platinum status. The most disappointing part was the attitude across the front-of-house operation. From management to the front desk and security staff, the treatment was consistently unpleasant, dismissive, and unwelcoming. This is completely contrary to the hospitality and service standards guests expect from the W and Marriott brands. The bar and restaurant staff were the exception. They were excellent—professional, attentive, friendly, and genuinely service-oriented. Their attitude helped balance an otherwise very negative experience, and they deserve recognition. I returned because of a great previous stay, but after this experience, I would not choose this property again. Anyone looking for the genuine Marriott experience, particularly Bonvoy members who expect basic recognition and professional treatment, should consider another hotel in Panama City."

"When booking this hotel RUN DON'T WALK. Only my second night of a two week stay and I'm impressed. Hotel is situated central to everything you need. From bars to restaurants and even service station. GREAT LOCATION. IN addition, I have been to a lot of Marriott hotels before and the team here is great. Service they give is exceptional from the front desk to the restaurant and housekeeping team. I'm actually impressed room 2105 is a nice room . We'll kept I'd love for a corner view but this is good nonetheless. But special mention to the team. Without a doubt, they are great. Looking forward to my next 12 nights here and getting to know the team."

"We stayed at this hotel for two nights and were in general very happy with our experience, which results in a weak 5*. Our breakdown below; Positive: - Modern hotel with quite a cool design - Best hotel gym I've encountered in a long time - Nice decent sized pool - Service minded staff in all departments we interacted with - Breakfast selection among the better we've experience recently and has slight variations from day to day. - Spacious room Neutral: - Pool area is spacious with a nice bar, but only a few proper sun loungers. Looks like it's more adapted to corporate events (should be able to do both) - Our son loved the (free) fussbal-table in the lobby bar, but it needs some TLC Negative: - Tipping pressure during an included breakfast, is something that belongs in the US (and shouldn't be a practice there either). The service is not different from any other breakfast. Also, they should be stricter towards clientele using their phones at full volume during what should be a peaceful meal. - Chemical balance in the pool was somewhat off one of the days, so bikini and a shorts got green during bathing. Hotel offered to clean/rinse, and managed to get most of it gone. Should have routines to measure this before opening the pool though."
