PB hotel design editorial

Few addresses in Central Europe carry the accumulated weight of Krakowskie Przedmieście 13, where the neoclassical facade visible in these images has presided over Warsaw's ceremonial spine since the original hotel opened in 1857. Raffles Europejski Warsaw, which returned to life in 2018 after a comprehensive restoration by the Mayen Group, holds 106 rooms and suites within a building that survived two world wars only to spend decades under Communist administration as a state hotel. The restoration — overseen with interior design by Roman and Williams-influenced Polish firm Tremend — treated the palazzo-style exterior with restraint, preserving the rusticated stone base, giant-order pilasters, and the deep-set entrance portico with its paired columns exactly as the original architects intended. Inside, the interiors balance the building's nineteenth-century bones against a palette that feels firmly contemporary without apology. Guest rooms carry herringbone oak parquet, panelled walls finished in warm greige, velvet teal daybeds, and sputnik-form brass ceiling fixtures that place the rooms somewhere between postwar Polish modernism and current European hotel design. The restaurant is the most architecturally ambitious space — large-format painted ceramic discs mounted above white-painted screened partitions, geometric brass pendant lighting overhead, and a floor of interlocking dark and pale timber diamonds creating a room that carries genuine visual ambition. The bar, lined with tan leather counter stools against a marble counter and threaded through arched openings, draws its atmosphere from blush velvet drapes and globe pendant clusters that glow amber into the evening.

Raffles Europejski Warsaw Reviews

"This hotel is luxurious, spotless, located perfectly for the old-town, has a great restaurant, and superb staff. The location is great because it's 2-3 blocks from the old-town. Staff couldn't be any nicer, friendlier, or more courteous for a 5-Star hotel. The gym is okay but not huge. The bath towels could be more plush. The lobby, corridors and room are really exquisite. Truly a beautiful establishment which must have very competent and professional management."

"I had pretty high expectations of the Raffles Warsaw, and it not only met but way exceeded them. The hotel is exceptionally beautiful - it feels like a stunning, art filled pied-a-terre in the middle of Warsaw. Rooms are comfortable (that bed!), huge showers, tons of space to fully unpack, and stocked with every amenity you’ll need. Breakfast is fantastic - lots of local delicacies along with familiar favorites. Longbar is THE place on a weekend, and cocktails there were a must every night. Pool and gym were both excellent. However, it was the staff though that particularly stood out. Every single person we met was so friendly, knowledgeable, and proud of the place where they worked. Strongly recommend."

"The Raffles Warsaw is a truly top-tier hotel and fully lives up to the Raffles name. My Heritage Suite was exceptional, and the butler service, spa, and restaurants were all flawless—each deserving a 10/10. What made the stay especially memorable, however, was the extraordinary kindness of the two gentlemen working the overnight shift. After a taxi driver attempted to overcharge me with the common claim that there was a 100 PLN fee for paying by credit card, I asked them for assistance. They immediately stepped in, argued on my behalf, and even offered to pay the fare in cash out of their own pockets because hotel policy does not allow cash to be charged to a guest’s room. I was eventually able to withdraw cash from the ATM in the hotel and leave them the tip they deserved, but I was genuinely moved by their willingness to help a guest they had no obligation to assist. That level of care and professionalism is rare, and it is exactly what defines true luxury hospitality. They turned what could have been a frustrating end to my evening into one of the most memorable parts of my stay."
