"We had a very enjoyable stay at Banana Island Resort Doha, and the biggest highlight for us was the hospitality of the staff. A special thank you to Jim and Jonathan at the entrance for their warm welcome and excellent hospitality. Thiri at reception was also very helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. The entire entrance and reception team were supportive, friendly, and cooperative. At the restaurant, Abdel, the Restaurant Manager, provided excellent service and made sure we were well looked after. John was also very attentive and proactive in serving us. Overall, the restaurant team showed great hospitality and were always cooperative. I also want to appreciate the buggy drivers, who work tirelessly around the resort, even in the hot weather, while remaining pleasant and helpful. The housekeeping team was also punctual, responsive, and maintained our room very well. There are a few operational areas where I feel the overall guest experience could be improved. The main public swimming pool closes quite early. Since guests may spend much of the daytime enjoying other resort activities, having longer evening pool hours would make the stay more flexible and enjoyable. The restaurant operating hours also felt somewhat restrictive. By the evening, some dining options were already closed. Although in-room dining is available, it would be better if at least some restaurants remained open until around 10:00 pm, so guests have more choice in the evening. The boat transfer experience could also feel more premium. Since the boat journey is the first and last impression of the island, improving that experience would better match the overall five-star positioning of the resort. One small point for improvement is the outdoor balcony seating. The cushions looked a little worn or stained in appearance. I would consider this more of a maintenance or refurbishment point rather than a housekeeping issue, as the room itself was very well maintained. Another area that could be made more convenient is payment for beach and water activities. Guests normally do not carry phones, wallets, or bank cards while swimming or taking part in water activities. It would be much easier if hotel guests could charge these activities directly to their room and settle everything during checkout. These points are mainly suggestions for management and operational improvement. Overall, the staff made a very positive difference to our stay, and their hospitality was one of the strongest parts of the Banana Island experience."
