PB hotel design editorial

Rising from the reclaimed shoreline of The Pearl-Qatar, Doha's artificial island development modelled loosely on the ambitions of Monaco, the Four Seasons Resort and Residences at the Pearl presents a tower whose sand-coloured neoclassical facade — arched windows, layered cornices, copper-toned domes at the crown — mirrors the architectural grammar of the broader masterplan while pushing well above its neighbours at roughly 25 storeys. The exterior massing draws on a kind of Gulf palatial vernacular, the base opening onto a private beach with twin pools and a landscaped terrace that steps directly onto the Arabian Gulf. Inside, the design moves in a more considered direction. Guest rooms are finished in herringbone oak parquet, the headboards clad in geometric marquetry panels framed with brass detailing, the palette shifting between warm stone tones and soft sage and slate depending on room category — an approach closer to contemporary Paris than Gulf convention. The all-day dining space is the most theatrical intervention: terrazzo floors inlaid with marble borders, arched niches lined in teal zellige-style tile, and clusters of brass-and-opal pendant chandeliers suspended from a mirrored ceiling that amplifies the room's depth. The indoor pool carries a hammam sensibility, its vaulted coffers and travertine-clad arches arranged along one long wall with recessed lounge alcoves, the blue mosaic basin beneath doing most of the atmospheric work. The property holds 161 rooms and suites across the tower, with residences occupying the upper floors.

Four Seasons Resort and Residences at the Pearl Reviews

"Our family really loves the four Seasons Residence! We already stayed 2 times for over a month each visit. The building and amenities are brand new and perfectly taken care of. The location is top, right at the beachfront and you can walk to the Pearl marina where you find cafes, restaurants and anything you need. It’s super kids friendly and the hotel stuff is absolutely lovely and trying their best to make the stay of the guests as good as possible. Also the Kids Club and the activities they offer for our little ones are great. Specially Rym from the Kids Zone is amazing. She gave us the confidence we needed to trust her taking care of our kids as she works very professionally and as the same time with so much love. We also like the amazing brunch they offer on Fridays. And not to forget the beautiful spa. We will come back every year."

"Tonight we had a reservation at a restaurant in the Four Seasons. We were not staying there so we got a cab there. We arrived and asked reception where the restaurant was, only to find out there were 2 Four Seasons and we were at the wrong one! All of the reception staff were amazing. They phoned the restaurant and asked them to hold our reservation and then booked us a taxi to get us there. All this and we were not even staying there. I wish we were! What fantastic staff. Thank you so much! 😊"

"We stayed for three nights at the Four Seasons Hotel The Pearl – Doha, and overall it was a memorable and comfortable stay. The hotel, opened just two years ago, has been kept immaculately maintained, with luxurious décor and a grand atmosphere throughout. From the elegant lobby to the gym, indoor pool, spa and rooms, every corner gives that unmistakable “wow” factor. Our room was exceptionally spacious with a fully equipped kitchen and premium amenities - perfect for families or longer stays. Compared to the older Four Seasons in West Bay, the outdoor space here is more compact, with smaller pools and limited green areas. However, the Kids Club is excellent - well-organised with curated daily activities such as face painting and even clown visits that delighted the younger guests. Huge thanks to Rym, Rachel, Camilla and Ally for their wonderful care and creativity - they made our daughter’s stay extra special. The spa and beach teams were also fantastic - Budi, Munim, Rutendo and Ramadan all stood out for their hospitality and warmth. At the front desk, Nayef was welcoming and efficient. Our experience at Nota Blu, a newly opened restaurant, was disappointing - I was turned away for wearing slippers, even though I wore the exact same outfit at Nobu Doha, which is far more formal and renowned, without any issue. It felt somewhat absurd that certain places prioritise enforcing arbitrary dress codes over genuinely delivering good hospitality or understanding their guests. When someone is clearly well-presented, fixating on whether shoes are “slippers” rather than loafers feels out of touch with the spirit of refined service. The experience felt detached from the usual Four Seasons principles of warmth and discretion, which makes me question how such an outlet aligns with the brand’s standards. A special word of appreciation goes to Stephan, the Director of Rooms, who truly embodied the Four Seasons spirit. After we were unexpectedly turned away by Nota Blu, Stephan noticed our disappointment and personally ensured we were warmly received at Spuntino, the Italian restaurant. Thanks to his thoughtful intervention and the gracious service from Sam and Saya, our evening was completely turned around — a genuine gesture that reminded us what sets Four Seasons apart. I would also like to thank Liam and Justin for their attentive and friendly service during breakfast at Spuntino, which consistently started our mornings on a high note. Overall, Four Seasons The Pearl offers breathtaking interiors, spacious rooms and exceptional service from many wonderful staff members. It’s clearly designed with families with younger children in mind, and despite a few rough edges in one outlet, the warmth and professionalism of the wider team more than made up for it. We would gladly return."

"My stay at the Four Seasons was truly a memorable one. Although it was a short visit, every moment was worth it. As a hotelier myself, I was deeply impressed by the attention to detail and the genuine warmth that define the Four Seasons experience. From the delicious welcome amenities and the thoughtful note on the welcome card to the friendly, family-like atmosphere throughout the property, everything reflected exceptional hospitality. The pool team was organized, attentive, and made sure every guest felt cared for. The concierge, valet, and bellman teams were all extremely professional and made every arrival and departure seamless and pleasant. A special thanks to Khadija at the reception for her cheerful assistance, and to Hamza at Nicolas for his warm attitude and cheerful smile they truly embodied the spirit of Four Seasons hospitality and made my experience even more special. I would also like to recognize the housekeeping team for their outstanding turndown service. Every detail in the room was perfectly cared for and organized, and they ensured that all my requests were fulfilled seamlessly."
