PB hotel design editorial

That facade is the argument. Rising above Singapore's Kampong Glam district, the tower housing Andaz Singapore deploys a continuous honeycomb-patterned curtain wall — diamond-faceted aluminum fins layering across floor-to-ceiling glass — that shifts tone from steel-blue to bronze depending on the angle of equatorial light. Designed by Handel Architects and completed in 2017, the 39-storey tower holds 342 rooms and carries its geometry all the way to the porte-cochère, where a jagged golden canopy extends the facade's angular logic down to street level, making the arrival sequence feel like a deliberate continuation of the building rather than a decorative addition. Inside, the interiors were developed by HBA Singapore with a brief rooted in the district's Arab Quarter heritage and Singapore's broader multicultural identity. Guest rooms take two distinct registers: some are finished in warm oak panelling and dark walnut flooring with saffron-yellow lacquered screens and arched wall sconces on leather backplates, referencing the golden palette of the Malay and Peranakan textile traditions immediately outside; others settle into cooler taupe-on-grey tones with floral-patterned carpets and floor-to-ceiling bay views toward Marina Bay and the Singapore Flyer. The rooftop infinity pool frames that same skyline at dusk, the CBD towers reflected in still water, while the upper-floor restaurant pairs a coffered dark-timber barrel ceiling with clusters of globe pendants and a chevron stone floor — its open kitchen counter finished in richly veined purple marble.

"Overall a great experience. Clean hotel and amenities. Gymn is a bit small and can get crowded. I suspect July is a busy season so checking in can be a long process."

"Pleasant experience overall. Excellent food at 5 on 25. The only main complaint is the wifi system not working on my phone and the data roaming was in and out. It worked well on my computer. Recommended stay. Linked to MRT Bugis. Pleasant staff. A shout out to Jenny at the 25/F reception."

"My family check in room 3502 at Jul 14, 26. The room has problem of backflow odor from the drain pipe in the flush toilet room. It is very very bad smell. Jul 15, 26 we call technician staff to check but the bad odor doesn't occur when he comes. The next day Jul 16, 26 the very very bad smell occur again the the flush toilet room so I use whatsapp to chat with the staff to request to change to other room that doesn't have the bad smell problem. Good luck of us that the new room is in good condition. We never have bad experience like this. Andaz is not budget hotel so we trust in your brand. But we are very disappoint by this problem. How we can trust and have confident to book Andaz again in the future when we go to Singapore?"

"Stayed at Andaz for 3 days after getting off the Disney cruise. The room was not ready at the early hours, but it is huge and beyond our expectations. I booked a standard double bed room, and it comfortably fit the 3 of us. A good-sized couch, a round table where we can order Grab during late nights. Complimentary refreshments and fruits are available in the lobby throughout the day, and mini-bar drinks are also complimentary. It is also connected to Bugis MRT station. Although it is on the outskirts of the city, there are enough cafes and eateries within 5 minutes. The room is way beyond what I expected!! Highly recommend it and will definitely stay again."
