PB hotel design editorial

Spread across a granite-fringed headland on Praslin — the Seychelles' second island, not Mahé — where dense takamaka forest tumbles toward one of the Indian Ocean's most celebrated stretches of white sand, Raffles Seychelles arranges its 86 pool villas across the hillside in a configuration that keeps the resort feeling more like a private enclave than a managed destination. The aerial view makes the organizing principle clear: blue-roofed pavilions distributed through the canopy at intervals generous enough that each villa holds its own territory, the main pool terrace curving at the forest edge where land meets the turquoise shallows of Anse Takamaka. The interiors carry a quiet material confidence — cork-panelled headboard walls giving bedrooms an earthy warmth that reads against the cool palette of ice-blue upholstery and white linen, hardwood decking extending living areas outward onto private plunge pools framed by dark timber balustrades. Floor-to-ceiling glazed walls retract fully, dissolving the boundary between air-conditioned interior and the Seychellois air beyond. The main pool's dark-tiled surface mirrors palm canopy and sky in equal measure, teak-framed sun loungers arranged beneath canvas market umbrellas in a composition that favours ease over spectacle. Outdoor dining at the waterfront restaurant sets woven rattan chairs on lawn that drops directly to the bay, the granite peaks of neighbouring islands visible across the water — a reminder that the landscape here does the design's heaviest work.

Raffles Seychelles Reviews

"This review is purely for some of the wonderful staff members at Raffles Seychelles who genuinely made our stay far more memorable with their warmth and hospitality. Arindom Roy at the pool was incredibly humble, approachable, and always carried a smile. The kind of person who instantly makes guests feel comfortable and is always happy to help. Chef Bikarna Biswas delivered excellent food along with equally warm hospitality throughout the stay. Apratim Santra managed everything exceptionally well and ensured the overall experience remained smooth and effortless for us. And a special mention to Akshay Pathak from the in-room dining team, who was consistently cheerful, prompt, and welcoming every single time. Luxury hospitality is often defined more by people than properties, and these individuals truly made a difference during our stay."

"stayed here for my honeymoon in one of the ocean-view villas, and the experience was incredible. The villa itself was beautiful, the views were amazing, and the layout provided a surprising amount of privacy — you could relax on your deck without looking directly into another villa. What really stood out at Raffles, though, were the small details. Everything felt thoughtfully done, from the quality of the towels and robes to the overall level of service throughout the property. The people were what truly made the stay memorable. Simon and Margarette went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. They checked in on us often, helped coordinate things like getting a rental car, arranged access to Anse Georgette, and handled every request quickly and genuinely warmly. The same can be said for every buggy driver and staff member we interacted with during the week — everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. It’s the kind of service that makes a place feel special, and a big reason why our stay here was such a memorable part of our honeymoon."

"We had an absolutely exceptional stay at Raffles Seychelles! From the moment we checked in, everything felt seamless, and the attentive staff made us feel incredibly welcome. The property itself is stunning, offering luxurious amenities in an unbeatable location. What truly stood out, however, was the staff. Laura, the concierge, went above and beyond when we found ourselves stranded in the dark after our electric car ran out of battery. Despite being off duty, she answered our call and immediately arranged for someone to pick us up—we are so grateful for her care and responsiveness. We would also like to thank Dominique in reception for making our stay really memorable, Faith at the spa, all the cart drivers, the beach team, and everyone at the restaurants. A special mention goes to Bernard, who, during a solo breakfast visit, went out of his way to ensure my friends were able to receive breakfast in their room since they couldn’t join me that morning. Every interaction exceeded our expectations, and the level of genuine hospitality we experienced was remarkable. We will certainly be back—this was truly a five-star experience, and we are already looking forward to returning soon."
