PB hotel design editorial

Spread across a granite-fringed headland on Praslin — the Seychelles' second island, not Mahé — where dense takamaka forest tumbles toward one of the Indian Ocean's most celebrated stretches of white sand, Raffles Seychelles arranges its 86 pool villas across the hillside in a configuration that keeps the resort feeling more like a private enclave than a managed destination. The aerial view makes the organizing principle clear: blue-roofed pavilions distributed through the canopy at intervals generous enough that each villa holds its own territory, the main pool terrace curving at the forest edge where land meets the turquoise shallows of Anse Takamaka. The interiors carry a quiet material confidence — cork-panelled headboard walls giving bedrooms an earthy warmth that reads against the cool palette of ice-blue upholstery and white linen, hardwood decking extending living areas outward onto private plunge pools framed by dark timber balustrades. Floor-to-ceiling glazed walls retract fully, dissolving the boundary between air-conditioned interior and the Seychellois air beyond. The main pool's dark-tiled surface mirrors palm canopy and sky in equal measure, teak-framed sun loungers arranged beneath canvas market umbrellas in a composition that favours ease over spectacle. Outdoor dining at the waterfront restaurant sets woven rattan chairs on lawn that drops directly to the bay, the granite peaks of neighbouring islands visible across the water — a reminder that the landscape here does the design's heaviest work.

"Perfect location, beautiful design & architecture work, delicious food! As a father of a teenager daughter I was so pleased and surprised when she asked - Do you have matcha? And the answer was yes and the fact that they had so many different types of milk as well was really positive, as well as the fruit asortyment. The hotel was under some reconstruction but it wasn’t a problem at all. The thing that wasn’t very pleasant for a 5 star hotel was the time that I had to wait for food as well as the communication between the staff, I’m not talking about the spa crew neither about the reception staff and the management that was at the hotel for max 10 days because they just moved there, but they were doing an impressive job, but I’m talking about the waitress in all hotel. They need a good training. Going back to the good things, amazing spa and perfect staff. Beautiful beach, so clean that it looks like a dream, but the sunbaths saw better times, they need to be change. Huge pool, great location, amazing garden, I’m not sure but I think that I had never saw before a hotel located in a jungle that is looking so amazing and cared for! Delicious breakfast the asortyment was huge!! The fruits and the buffet overall were exactly for a five star hotel! A huge shoutout to the chef that made those amazing meals, looking so beautiful! The room was perfectly clean and as well the hotel it self. The Managment is trying their best and they doing great! In a conclusion a PARADISE ON EARTH THAT NEEDS A BIT OF LOVE!!!"

"We stayed at Raffles Praslin in February 2026. All of the staff always gave us a warm welcome. Our butler, Haseem, was always delighted to see us. He spoiled us and, when he had time, conjured up funny figures out of the bath towels. We felt completely at home. Mr. Tamer gave us a very warm welcome at the bar and advised us on what to eat at which restaurant. Great guy."

"We have been at Raffles Seychelles for 6 nights in February with 2 kids (7 and 4). We had a Panoramic pool villa which was just incredibly clean and the view was stunning. We had fullboard and the food was outstanding and worth every penny spent :) Staff was extremely friendly and buggy service worked really well. Special thanks to Ricky, one of the buggy drivers who always had a smile on his face and was always there to help. The only bad experience we had was during check out at the reception. We have been there for about 30 mins as a few things on the bill were not correct, the two ladies there did not smile a single second, did not even ask if everything was fine and just looked really annoyed. The hotels beach was stunning, very clean, crystal clear water and full of beautiful corals and fish just a few meters in front of the hotel. We went snorkeling every day and always saw a lot of fish and marine life. We would like to also underline how eco friendly the hotel is and that they really try to minimize their impact on the environment. Nearly no plastic, everything wrapped in paper, no plastic bottles. Turtles were also there to feed and touch, Kids loved it a lot and we all enjoyed a fantastic holiday there. Definitely recommend and we will return for sure :)"
