PB hotel design editorial

Yeongjong Island exists in a peculiar state of perpetual arrival — the land mass that holds Incheon International Airport, one of the world's great transit hubs, also claims Hotel Art Paradiso, an adults-only boutique property that makes a compelling case for lingering rather than passing through. Designed by WATG as part of the larger Paradise City integrated resort, the 58-suite hotel across seven floors draws an unlikely but persuasive line between South Korean contemporary sensibility and European grandeur — marble underfoot, mirrored ceilings above, chandeliers weighted with crystal. Works by Nam June Paik anchor the art program, grounding the property's aspirational eclecticism in genuine cultural authority. From the courtyard, a monumental robotic figure raises a telescope toward the sky — a gesture that sets the tone for a hotel that treats art not as decoration but as ambient provocation. The Serase Lounge and Bar channels a different mood entirely: exposed brick, a white marble counter edged in burnished brass, pendant crystal rails, and bar stools upholstered in herringbone weave, the whole thing closer in spirit to a 1930s private club than a resort amenity. Guest suites balance dark lacquered paneling with tufted leather headboards trimmed in gold against views that open onto the resort's turquoise outdoor pool — a Roman holiday atmosphere transplanted to the Yellow Sea. Closed in 2020 and reopened in July 2023, Art Paradiso carries its interruption lightly.

"My husband and I stayed at Art Paradiso in the Duplex room for two nights at the beginning of November. The room was incredibly luxurious and romantic! Despite being on the third floor, it was very quiet, and we couldn’t hear any outside noise. The room was beautiful and exactly as shown in the pictures online. It was completely updated and clean, with no signs of wear and tear, and all features worked perfectly. We were able to adjust the room temperature and the AC unit as needed; the coldest temperature we set was 20°C. However, due to the design of the room, there was minimal drawer space for clothes and no traditional closet, but there was a standing clothes rack and hooks. Our package included access to several amenities, including the Paradise City Hotel fitness center, a kids' playroom, and the outdoor pool, although we didn’t use these during our stay. The amenities we did utilize were the Art Paradiso gym, Wonderbox, and CIMER. The Art Paradiso gym is quite small but has the essential exercise machines and equipment. While we didn’t spend much time in Wonderbox, it seems like a great place for families with children. Most of our time was spent in CIMER, which is the multi-level jjimjilbang (Korean spa) that is worth every penny. We spent five hours there one day and another three hours on the day of checkout since you can use the amenities even after checking out. The staff were very helpful and attentive. Even though we tried our best to speak Korean when possible, most of the staff members we encountered understood English. However, some staff members in CIMER were not as proficient in English compared to those in the hotel. The hotel is not located in Seoul but rather close to Incheon Airport; however, you do not hear any airport or airplane noise. There are various dining options inside the hotel and within a short walking distance, so there’s no need for a car. Additionally, there is a free shuttle bus to and from Incheon Airport. This hotel is perfect for staying at after touring Seoul and needing some relaxation time before flying back home. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to my family and friends, and I would certainly stay here again on my next trip to Seoul!"

"I decided to spend the last 2 nights of the short trip at The Art Paradiso Hotel as it was close to the airport. This weekend happened to be my birthday. From when I checked in (which was day before birthday) till I checked out, every staff I met wished me happy birthday by name. The hotel staff were always prompt, attentive, helpful and warm. Always ready to help. I had dinner at the restaurant, the chef made nice desserts and came out to introduce himself and sent his warm wishes as well. It's been a while since I experienced delightful customer service like this. Don't get me wrong, most 5 star international hotel chains' service are professional but lack the personal touch. Art Paradiso apart from its impeccable design, aesthetically pleasing surrounding, convenient location and facilities, it's the outstanding service that made my stay a memorable one. Thank you Anna Ryu at the reception and all members and staff of the Art Paradiso hotel for your excellent work. I'll be back for sure. Thanks again."

"Staying at Art Paradiso truly felt like paradise. Our room was peaceful and cozy, complete with a spacious bathtub. To our delight, we were welcomed with champagne. Both breakfast and dinner were included in the rate, which added to the convenience. The dinner was a tasting menu that rivaled a Michelin-starred restaurant in quality. I was especially thrilled to find they served my favorite wine, Cloudy Bay, enhancing my overall experience. Olivia, the manager who assisted us, spoke flawless English. She meticulously guided us through all the Paradise City locations we were eager to explore. I sincerely hope to return. Also, I must mention that the massage I received at the Paradise City resort was exceptional, though I regret I've forgotten the name of the therapist."

"Wow! We were speachless. The design is magnificent, the service is outstanding and the room - in one word - perfect! When we got the place , we were amazed by its uniqueness and the design. The welcome drinks (peach with alcohol) were so refreshing! After that we were announced that we got upgraded from the Junior Suite to the Deluxe Suite! To be honest - it made our day! The room was wide, well-designed! There is a free minibar, some snacks and wine (loved that!) The plaza area has a variety of restaurants (some of them cheap and some more fancy: Chinese, Korean, Italian , Thai, American, Japanese...). We didnt take the breakfast in the hotel (we thought the price is too expensive for a breakfast) so we ate outside. I highly recommend to get to Cimer (if you are a couple, additional charge) , which is kind of Water park and spa. There is infinity pool, not so crowded , a lot of saunas and Korean spa (salt room, ice room, relaxing room and more and more!) Worth the money! We can't wait for the next time to stop there for a refreshing before or after the next flight! Thanks !"
