PB hotel design editorial

Lotte Hotels' design-forward sub-brand found one of its most urban expressions when L7 Myeongdong planted itself in the dense commercial grid of central Seoul, its white-panelled tower rising roughly twenty floors above a streetscape defined by retail signage and pedestrian flow. The exterior announces its personality early — a bold yellow graphic band running several storeys tall, the phrase lucky to meet you! printed in a typeface cheerful enough to double as wayfinding. That chromatic confidence carries inside, where the brand's lifestyle positioning translates into rooms that layer warm oak flooring, concrete-effect wall finishes, and illustrative murals depicting Seoul's skyline in a palette that mixes pale blue with graphic yellow accents. Swing-arm black metal wall sconces, tufted leather lounge chairs, and chrome-framed desks give the interiors a mid-century café energy rather than the neutral efficiency of most urban business hotels. The upper floors are where the property earns its address most convincingly. The rooftop bar and terrace, clad in dark board-formed concrete panels with floor-to-ceiling glazing on the city-facing elevation, delivers uninterrupted views across Myeongdong toward Namsan and the illuminated N Seoul Tower — a sight the guest rooms below frame equally well through full-width windows. Inside the bar, a long quartz counter runs parallel to backlit bottle shelving, while green leather banquettes and terracotta-upholstered bar stools introduce a warmth that keeps the space from feeling purely industrial. The effect is closer to a confident European rooftop restaurant than anything typically found in Seoul's mid-market hotel tier.

"This was my second visit to L7 Myeongdong. Room is clean, location is superb, staff are attentive and friendly. Check in and out was a breeze (thank you, Ms. Luna!). However, the breakfast spread could improve a bit tho, in terms of variety of food. Was there for 4 nights, the choices became repetitive. Will definitely choose this hotel for future visit(s)."

"This trip for me was so amazing because the hotel staff was just too awesome. Firstly we were greatly politely by Harry, who gave us his utmost professional service. Thankfully for us, the room was available for us to check in slightly earlier so I could leave my things and freshen up a bit before we go for tour/shop. Every staff especially those at the reception were very kind and nice. We also got pointers on where to eat and that was very helpful. When we had trouble with the coin laundry, harry again had to come and help us solve the issue not once but twice. We are so sorry for all the trouble . We would come back to this Hotel again for sure because location is superb! Cleanliness is also tip top!!!!"

"Great location Arrived early- charged $60 to get our room even though it was ready Winter has constant heat in room. Even in off it turns on in afternoon. So stuffy so we had to get maintenance to pull the plug from a secret cupboard Opening window which is great but -12 at night is cold so we had to close window and then became stuffy again. Asked for extra duvet/doona wanted to charge $50 Paid Breakfast buffet. Not great. Hot food was always cold even after mentioning to chef, staff and front desk. Cold food was warm or room temp so health/food wise we didn’t touch Great coffee machine downstairs complementary Location is quiet and at a train entrance and7/11 next door and all the action. Would I return? Probably not. I understand all cooling turned off in winter at most hotels but as paying guests anywhere in world we should have the options to choose how we like the rooms temperature"

"Stayed 4 nights in Locomix Suite and the experience was pleasant. This hotel has a really great location being in close proximity to Myeongdong subway station, and Airport Limousine bus-stop is also just a stone’s throw away. Needless to say, dining and shopping choices are abundant too. We really enjoyed the spacious room and the amenities available in the room. The view of Namsan Tower was nice. The only gripe is that the double bed was kind of small, hardly have space to turn especially for plus-size people. Given the big space of the suite (and the price we paid), I genuinely think that it should equip with a king-size bed instead. Also for non couple to take note, the glass door to the bathroom is totally transparent with no curtain/blinds, meaning you can see all the actions inside the bathroom clearly. This can be awkward if you were staying with friends. However, the bathroom was really big and spacious too. There is a laundry room on level B1 with only 2 washers and 2 dryers to serve the whole hotel of over 200 rooms. Hence it can get quite busy and some waiting for available machine is expected, especially when the other guests don’t collect their clothes immediately after washing/drying. If only we could monitor the status of the washers/dryers through the hotel information channel on the TV in the comfort of our own room, just like in most hotels in Japan, would be an added value. Would like to commend a short hair, middle age female staff stationed at the Concierge counter on ground floor lobby, sorry that I didn’t get her name. She always greeted every guests with broad smiles, and would even escort the guests to the lifts. Her sincerity and friendliness instantly warmed our hearts every time we returned to the hotel after a long day outside in the cold winter. Overall it was a delightful stay. Staff were friendly and helpful, and could speak fluent English. Would likely to stay here again for its strategic location and convenience to everything."
