"I’m so impressed with the Hoxton Hotel in Barcelona. Super friendly staff, well-decorated and spacious room with a view of Sagrada Família, strong AC (we desperately needed it!), super comfortable bed and pillows, hip and welcoming lobby, awesome rooftop bar and pool with a view, delicious breakfast buffet, and fun location in Poblenou - 15 minute walk to Sagrada Família. There is major construction outside on the avenue, but the soundproofing did wonders. I didn’t hear a thing and I was on 2nd floor facing the street."

"Unfortunately, my stay at The Hoxton Poblenou was very disappointing. I travel frequently and have stayed at many hotels, so I understand the basic standards and level of service that a good hotel should provide. I specifically booked a Sagrada Família view room for three nights and paid extra for this room type. The view was one of the main reasons I chose The Hoxton Poblenou over other hotels, including Accor properties and H10. Unfortunately, the first room had a strong sewage smell coming from the bathroom, and the water in both the sink and shower drained very slowly. There was also construction noise from the street outside until around 1–2 a.m. Since I still had two nights remaining, I requested a room change, which was accepted. However, when I returned to the hotel, I was surprised to find that I had been moved to a standard room with no Sagrada Família view. I do not think a room change due to problems with the original room should result in a downgrade, especially when I had specifically paid extra for the original room category. If a room of the same category was not available, I believe this should have been clearly explained before moving me. Instead, I had to return to reception myself and point out that I had been given a lower room category. I was initially told that our original Room 424 was available, so I asked whether the sewage issue had been resolved and said I would be willing to return. Later, however, I was told that I could not return to the original room either. As a result, I was unable to enjoy the Sagrada Família view I had specifically paid for during the remaining two nights. I was eventually offered a larger room as an upgrade, which I appreciated as a gesture. However, it was not what I had wanted. Although the room was larger, its layout meant that only part of the room received good natural light, making it inconvenient for getting ready and everyday use. I was also disappointed by the way the situation was handled at reception. I was asked whether I would like a drink, but was offered a Coca-Cola rather than a more appropriate gesture considering the circumstances. I am also an Accor Gold member and have benefits through American Express, but my request for a late check-out was only accommodated until 1 p.m. Overall, the biggest problem was not simply the room itself, but the lack of organization and communication. I am normally a very positive person, but this experience made it difficult to feel positive about the hotel. The staff were polite in some interactions, but the overall system for handling guest requests and problems needs significant improvement. I specifically chose this hotel because of the room and view, and unfortunately I was unable to enjoy what I had paid for for two of my three nights. I would not choose this hotel again, and I would recommend that future guests carefully consider the room category and how the hotel handles room changes before booking."

"The Hox was the perfect choice for a weekend getaway! The room was spacious, clean, quiet, and well designed. It was lovely to return to a cool and soft bed after touring around Gracia and El Borne. I also felt well fueled for each day of exploring, as there was a variety of choices for breakfast, including eggs in any way you like. I especially enjoyed the pool and relaxing on the sunbeds (Pro tip: order the club sandwich and mixed berry slushie). Of note is the exceptional view from the rooftop, where you can see the Sagrada towering over the city! Evenings at the rooftop are lively, with great music, drinks, and good vibes. The location of the hotel also added value to my stay—just a walk away is a local beach, and right outside is a metro station that takes you directly to Gracia. Shout out to the staff who were extremely accommodating and welcoming; your warmth made this holiday extra special! I will definitely be coming back!"
