PB hotel design editorial

Plaza de la Trinidad sits at the social heart of Granada's university quarter, where students and locals have gathered around the square's plane trees for centuries — and it is into a handsome terracotta-rendered building on its edge that the Seda Club Hotel was fitted, its five-storey facade of wrought-iron balconies and stone-dressed windows restored to something close to its nineteenth-century composure. The rooftop addition, visible in the exterior image at night, introduces a timber-beamed pergola structure that sits lightly above the historic cornice line, a considered move that gives the building a contemporary crown without erasing its Andalusian character. Inside, the interiors strike a register closer to a well-appointed private club than to conventional boutique hotel design — herringbone dark-oak floors running through every room, arched velvet headboards in forest green or deep burgundy, brass grid detailing on wall panels, and ceiling coffers with soft indirect lighting that avoid the harshness typical of the category. Guest rooms shift between a deep-navy palette and warmer earth tones, each anchored by a patterned wool rug with Moorish border detailing. The restaurant carries the same material language into a more formal key: dark lacquered wall panels, wood-inlaid ceiling cassettes, and barrel-back upholstered dining chairs gathered around white-clothed tables. The rooftop terrace, planted with banana palms and figs against a backdrop of traditional hydraulic tilework, shifts the mood entirely — loose, garden-like, and generous with Granada's sharp Andalusian light.

"We stayed for two nights in May at this wonderful hotel as part of a tour of southern Spain, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel genuinely welcome. The team were warm, friendly, and eager to share their local knowledge, which helped us make the most of our time in Granada. We stayed in a suite, and it was one of the finest hotel rooms we have experienced. The room felt luxurious throughout, with excellent attention to detail and a real sense of quality. The L’Occitane amenities were a particularly thoughtful touch. We enjoyed dinner in the hotel on one evening and found the food to be outstanding. For our second night, the concierge recommended and reserved a local restaurant for us, and it proved to be an excellent choice. The team also arranged a guided tour of the Alhambra, which was superb and one of the highlights of our visit. As first-time visitors to Granada, we could not have chosen a better location. The hotel sits on a beautiful square surrounded by attractive shops and restaurants, and everything we wanted to see was within easy walking distance. Granada itself was glorious, and the hotel played a huge part in making our stay so memorable. Exceptional service, beautiful accommodation, and a perfect location—we would not hesitate to return and very much hope to visit again soon."

"This was our very first visit in Granada. We typically stay with Marriott properties as being a Bonvoy Titanium member, but we chose to stay at Seda Club for 2 nights for its location and also to utilize Amex FHR travel benefit. From the moment we arrives at Seda Club to check out, service was impeccable and every employees we met made us feel very welcome and being taken care of. We would like to special thank you to lovely front desk clerk, Ms. Elvira, who took time and government us excellent restaurant recommendations. During our fairy sort stay of 2 nights, we went to 3 restaurants from her recommendations in town and we had such a wonderful local dining experience. As far as room and hotel ground in general, everything was decorated beautifully and clean. The lightings inside our room were ambient lights only which I found it a little hard for us to pack before sunrise since we had such an early departure. Seda Club located in a few minutes walking distance from Cathedral and many shops and restaurants but it was very quiet. We will definitely stay again for our next visit in Granada and also we are now interested in staying in other Seda Hotel properties in Spain in future."

"Do yourself a favor and book for your Granada stay. One of the best overall hotel experiences I’ve had. Perfect location and everyone was extremely helpful. Bonus: Dyson hair dryer and a hair straightener for use in each room. Was having difficulties with my hair tools so very much appreciated this."
