PB hotel design editorial

Planted on the quieter eastern shore of Ibiza at Santa Eulalia, where the island's pace runs closer to the Mediterranean of fifty years ago than to the club-circuit west, Hotel Riomar has operated from this seafront position since the 1960s — a whitewashed mid-century block whose proportions and iron-railed balconies still carry the unhurried optimism of early Balearic tourism. The recent renovation, which brought the property into the Curio Collection by Hilton, preserved the building's modest five-floor profile while stripping the interiors back to a palette that suits the light on this coast: warm cognac leather headboards framed by dark steel panel surrounds, ceiling fans rather than recessed lighting, terracotta and ochre scatter cushions against white linen bedding, and rattan accent chairs that keep each room from tipping into corporate anonymity. Outside, the transformation is more confident. A generous teak pool deck shaded by mature Aleppo pines anchors the ground level, sun loungers arranged in the unhurried geometry of a private villa rather than a resort grid. The waterfront restaurant terrace extends beneath a scalloped canvas canopy on white-painted steel posts, furnished with cord-wrapped dining chairs and solid teak tables, the whole arrangement oriented toward a view across the bay that renders the design conversation somewhat beside the point. The VW Campervan parked at the entrance — visible in the facade image — signals the register the hotel is aiming for: nostalgic, sun-bleached, and deliberate.

"Loved this hotel, really beautiful immaculate pool area, great breakfast buffet and very friendly staff. Really relaxing stay on the "chill" side of the island. Parking is a bit tricky, either 20 Euro for valet or you can look for a space in town which can be tight. But overall great experience."

"Criticisms of this hotel? None! Cannot fault anything at all. Beautiful hotel, amazingly friendly and helpful staff, fab food and no struggle to get a lounger at the pool or on the private beach area. Such comfortable beds too. Book it, you won't regret it."

"We booked this hotel based on the reviews and we were not disappointed. The staff greeted us with smiles from arrival and until left, they make this a 5 star experience. A big shout out to Manuel at the pool who always had time to talk and help everyone. Rooms are modern and very clean, food and drink at the ocean view were wonderful, as were the staff waiting on. Great location, just a 4 mins walk to centre of town but there are 5 - 6 bars close to hotel. Sea view rooms was worth the extra cost, you get sun rise if your up early. You will also get some noise beach cleaning tractor once or twice a week. ( not a complaint just a comment ) We will be back. Thanks to all the staff. Best place to stay in this town"

"This was our 3rd visit to this hotel, and this time, a couple of our friends decided to join us, as we had sang the praises of the hotel to them, several times before. What can I say, apart from once again, we had a fabulous time. The hotel staff are all so friendly and attentive, and we were warmly welcomed back by Andrea and Nieves (that lady never stops running around looking after everyone, and making sure they are okay, I don't know where she gets her energy from!) In my previous reviews, I have also mentioned the amazing sea view rooms, the most comfortable sun beds, the efficiency of the staff taking food and drinks orders around the pool and the choices of lovely food and drinks, but this time I would like to give a special mention to the lifeguard at the pool, Manuel. We all said that in the many years we have been going on holidays abroad, we had never met a more friendly and attentive lifeguard. The guy was absolutely amazing! If he saw us, or anyone else, getting up to move a parasol he was straight there to help you, asking who wanted to be in the shade, and finding the right place to position it. But then, he would keep coming back to check on you and reposition it, to keep it how you wanted it. I'm not sure if he actually works directly for the hotel, or is supplied by an agency, but he told us he works 7 days a week, but that he wanted to, because he loved being there! What a fantastic lad he is, absolutely incredible service from him! Finally our friends were so impressed with the hotel, that just like us, they booked to come back next year, while still laying on their sunbeds last week! We are already looking forward to next year, and the warm welcome that we always receive from the receptionists, bellboys, restaurant and pool staff, and would love to hopefully see Manuel again too."
