PB hotel design editorial

Pressed between the ornate Regionalist facades of Seville's historic centre with the Giralda tower visible from its rooftop, the building that houses Querencia de Sevilla Autograph Collection takes a different approach from its neighbours — a contemporary limestone-clad facade of vertical ribs and full-height glazing that neither mimics the surrounding Belle Époque architecture nor ignores it. The seven-floor structure sits on the Calle Tetuán, one of the city's principal commercial arteries, its street-level transparency giving way to an increasingly residential rhythm as the floors rise toward the rooftop pool, where yellow and green geometric tilework around the water's edge acknowledges Seville's deep ceramic tradition against a panorama of terracotta rooftops. Inside, the interiors carry the atmosphere of a confidently theatrical Andalusian fantasy — shell-form headboards upholstered in deep plum velvet, floral damask wallcoverings in silver-grey, and brass articulated reading lamps anchoring each bedside. The restaurant works a similar vein with considerable flair: deeply channelled blue velvet banquettes curve alongside tables set with painted floral porcelain, while gilded bull-head wall mounts above a wildflower-print wallpaper panel draw a knowing line between tauromachy and decorative excess. Copper mesh column cladding and Sputnik-style pendant lights in blackened steel complete the room's layered personality — playful and specific in a way that places the hotel firmly within the current generation of Autograph Collection properties that treat local cultural reference as genuine design material rather than surface gesture.

"The staff set the tone from the moment we arrived. I had left my glasses in the taxi from Ronda, and before I could stress about it the host at the front desk assured me that they would arrange to have them delivered to our next hotel in Madrid, which they did. That kind of initiative was typical. Taxis were arranged reliably, recommendations were spot-on, and reservations were handled without fuss. Our room was beautiful. A spacious king bedroom with a sofa, sitting area, and small refrigerator, plus a well-designed alcove that handled hanging clothes and suitcases with room to spare. The bathroom was large, with a multi-option shower and a jetted tub, and the view out the bathroom window alone was worth mentioning. The terrace, though, was the star. A sweeping view of Sevilla including the cathedral, furnished with a dining table, two chaise lounges, and a small loveseat setup, nicely framed by plants on either end for privacy. The rooftop bar sits directly above, which could theoretically be an issue on busy nights, but was never a problem for us. Breakfast was excellent with a wide spread and made-to-order options from the kitchen. One honest note: ditch the pod coffee. It’s fine in the room but falls short at breakfast. The rooftop bar more than makes up for it with great views, solid food, and good drinks. Highly recommended for anyone spending time in Sevilla."

"Hotel Querencia de Sevilla was a great place for us to stay during our three-day visit to Seville. The hotel is centrally located, just steps from the Cathedral and convenient to most other major landmarks and sites. There was some construction going on close to the hotel at the time we were there, but it was not an issue and we did not hear any noises or experience any other inconvenience. The reception staff was extremely helpful. Pablo was incredibly helpful to us throughout our stay - everything from helping us with luggage, to suggesting restaurants and places to visit, to arranging cabs/Ubers, he was amazing and always available to help us! The room was very clean and well-appointed (mini-bar, wine/cocktail glassware, Nespresso machine with pods, iron/ironing board, robes, etc.). Bed was very comfortable. Our room's outdoor balcony overlooking the city was a great place to have a glass of wine or cocktails at the end of each day, or before venturing out for dinner. Breakfast was included with our stay each day. The breakfast spread/buffet had many good options, and we also ordered items from the menu (omelettes, scrambled eggs, etc.). The restaurant was very nice and a good place to start each day. The rooftop area and pool are very nice - we did not spend a lot of time there, but certainly would be a great place to spend more time in warmer weather. Overall, highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a very nice hotel, well-appointed rooms, centrally located and with attentive and friendly service staff."

"Wonderful hotel in great location two blocks from the Cathedral. The staff was very helpful with our multiple reservation changes. Our room had a wonderful view of the Giralda, nespresso machine, complementary boxed water, and a wonderful bed, with big, squishy pillows. The bathroom was good size with big, walk-in shower. Our kids' room had a French Balcony, was even larger than ours, with great luggage storage bench. Each room had cookies from a convent and a beautiful fan. Breakfast was absolutely amazing. Wonderful local pastries and cured meats, several fresh juices, 8 toppings for the yogurts, fresh fruit. Menu items were included in the buffet price, including an excellent Spanish tortilla, scrambled eggs, avocado toast and waffles. Coffee and espresso also included and the staff were always cheerful and helpful. The rooftop bar has an excellent view of the Cathedral and city. We also had a delicious dinner in the hotel restaurant. We were treated to amuse bouche, local delicacy salmorejo and when we were too full for dessert, the waitress brought us a little plate of chocolates. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel."

"I had booked an apartment nearby that didn’t live up to the photos so we were lucky that Querencia was around the corner with availability. Excellent condition, seems recently renovated. Clean, and incredible staff. It’s on the plaza of the Ayuntamiento and Banco de España. Very good location for walking. But again, the staff was great - I can’t say enough good things about them. The gentleman with the light beard was especially helpful with a medical issue my daughter developed. I wish I could remember his name. The hotel and staff saved our visit to Sevilla. Thanks so much."

"We only spent one night here but next time in Seville we’ll spend much more. The location was just a short walk to the Cathedral and next to the Plaza Nueva. Our room was upgraded to include a balcony with rooftop views and the plaza. It was roomy and very comfortable. Our welcoming gift of cookies from a nearby convent was quite delicious and we devoured them in one sitting. Breakfast was included and the spread offered a good variety plus hot à la carte items made to order. The gym had the typical dumbbell and bench, cardio equipment, yoga mats and even beach chairs. The only complaint was sometimes the elevators would go out of service for a few hours so one would have to wait longer to hike up/down. For our final uber pickup we walked towards the beginning of the street to make it easier for a pick up. Other than that this was a great central location for the sights and restaurants."
