PB hotel design editorial

Positioned on the quieter residential edge of Sitges, where the town's famous seafront promenade gives way to newer development pushing inland, Sabatic Sitges Autograph Collection takes the form of a contemporary tower rising above a low-slung glazed podium — dark steel columns supporting a timber-clad canopy that establishes a deliberately unhurried entry sequence, olive trees and ornamental grasses softening the forecourt into something closer to a garden threshold than a hotel drop-off. The interiors navigate two registers with reasonable confidence. The ground-floor restaurant is the stronger move: slatted timber ceilings, a dark honed-stone bar counter lined with natural wood stools, pendant lanterns borrowed loosely from Japanese paper-lamp traditions, and full-height glazing that pulls the rooftop vegetation into the dining room's peripheral vision. Upstairs, the guestrooms divide between a warmer register — macramé wall hangings, oak headboard panels, black disc-shade sconces, LED-edged wardrobe reveals — and a cooler, more restrained palette of sand linens, woven leather bench stools, and sheer curtains diffusing Atlantic light across pale timber floors. The rooftop lap pool, paved in large-format stone tiles with timber-clad plant structures at either end, commands views across the Garraf coastline toward the sea. As part of Marriott's Autograph Collection, the property sits within a framework that rewards independent character, and the restaurant floor, at least, delivers exactly that.

"It was my BIG Birthday in February. My daughter's BIG Birthday in December. My Grandsons 1st Birthday in July. So our Husbands booked us an 11 night break away here. The hotel is gorgeous inside and out. The smell as you enter the Foyer is just exceptional. Staff were ALL hard working and friendly. The room was immaculate every day of our stay. We ate in the Restaurant and couple of times and the food was lovely. We stayed on a Room Only basis and used the supermarket next door for our breakfast produce and self catered in our room the hotel was kind enough to supply us with bowls etc. There was building going on next door which was actually a great focal point for my grandson and I in the mornings as we watched the Crane moving and all the staff working away. One day this building site had suffered a malfunction and as we lay on the loungers around the baby pool we got covered in stones ( like rough casting). I spoke with the Male Manager on shift and felt like he listened to us about this incident. (Sorry I didnt catch his name but at lunch he was chatting away about his long hair days and my grandson was staring at him and smiling.) The next morning we were approached by Mar the Female Manager on shift and a sincere and heartfelt apology was made to us for what had occurred the day prior. This apology was accepted with thanks. The Hotel is the best we seen in Sitges and we seen all of Sitges as we walked everyday exploring. The Hotel offer a Shuttle service to and from the beachfront but we walked. Hats off to the room cleaning staff who worked tiredlessly to ensure our room was immaculate everyday. We loved making memories and so grateful it was this hotel we chose to do so. We would highly recommend this Hotel. Persevere with the outside building works because once complete this will be an unreal place to holiday If I was being picky I'd say a Heated Pool would've been a luxury as the pool relies on the sun to heat it but the sun was few and far between to make an appearance. Thanks to EACH AND EVERY STAFF MEMBER that made our stay 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟."

"This was a clean hotel in Sitges and for the most part we enjoyed our stay. The one thing that really frustrates me about the hotel is the breakfast-why do they end it so early?! Sitges is a very late night city and everyone sleeps in. The breakfast service ends promptly at 11AM and they try to rush everyone out of the dining room by then. Almost all (75%) of the hotel guests eat their breakfast between 10:30 and 11AM and the dining room gets very crowded during that time. I wish management would take note of the guest preferences and extend the breakfast hours until 11:30 or noon. Just a little extra time (even 30 extra minutes) would make a huge difference and make the mornings more relaxed. Every morning felt very rushed and I wish our holiday could have been a bit more relaxing so we could have started our days at a more leisurely pace. Management should consider adjusting the breakfast hours to be 8AM-Noon. I really wanted to like this hotel but I was disappointed and thought that it was dramatically overpriced at 400 euros/night. Especially given that the gym was not very well equipped (a small yoga studio with a few light weights), and the limited breakfast hours."

"We stayed for 5 nights at Sabàtic Hotel Sitges and it was a great experience. The rooms feel spacious and comfortable, making it easy to settle in and relax. The service stands with staff attentive and consistent throughout the stay. Breakfast is the only area that could improve. A wider à la carte selection would help keep things varied, as the current options can start to feel repetitive after a few days."

"We had a lovely chilled week in this hotel. Fabulous suite with a side sea view. Extremely comfortable, clean room and plenty of room for storage of stuff for a week. Breakfast was wonderful as we all the staff, welcoming and friendly. Really couldn’t fault it and we will definitely be going back. Be aware it’s a short (10 minute) walk to the pretty town centre and beach front but for us that wasn’t a problem at all. We enjoyed it. If we were being a bit picky (and we are taking minor points here), the gym could have a bit more equipment for this sort of hotel and the mood lighting in the living room could just do with one more lamp. Otherwise perfect."

"Anniversary stay overshadowed by very upsetting incident We chose this hotel to celebrate our 10-year wedding anniversary and unfortunately the experience ended up being extremely upsetting. During our stay my wife left her jewelry in the room while we went out for a couple of hours. When we returned, her wedding ring was gone. This wasn’t just an expensive item — it was her wedding ring, something with enormous emotional value that cannot be replaced. When we reported the situation the staff were sympathetic and reassured us several times that the hotel would “take care of it.” Because of that we believed the issue would be handled seriously. However, after their internal investigation we were simply informed that nothing had been found and that we could file a police report if we wished. Beyond that the matter appeared closed. The hotel offered a complimentary bottle of cava, which felt like a symbolic gesture rather than a meaningful attempt to address what had happened. What makes this particularly disappointing is that I live locally and have been a regular visitor to the hotel for lunches and meetings and was even considering joining the gym. Instead of leaving with a great memory of our anniversary, we left feeling extremely frustrated and disappointed."
