"This review is long overdue. We have been regular guests at the Royal Hideaway since it opened in 2019. It’s a fabulous modern hotel right in the heart of La Caleta, Costa Adeje. The hotel has two separate wings, the family friendly Corales Suites and the adults only Corales Beach (which also affords access to all of the facilities at Corales Suites). As a couple travelling alone we always chose a top floor room at Corales Beach. The rooms are beautifully furnished with separate sitting, sleeping and bathroom areas as well as a large balcony with a jacuzzi, sun loungers, table and chairs and a lovely view out to sea! Each wing has its own reception desk, swimming pool (Corales Beach has two) and restaurants, with a variety of local shops and restaurants a short walk away - with the restaurants along the harbour being offering some of the best views. The breakfast buffet at Nao is superb with a huge choice of yogurt, fruit, cereal, bread, meat, cheese, eggs, and freshly cooked dishes. My favourite is the freshly carved jamon, delicious! The restaurant also offers an evening buffet. The format of some of the other restaurants has changed over the years, with some of the Michelin starred restaurants now offering only a tasting menu (presumably it is easier to maintain standards when there are a limited number of menu choices) which is a shame as over a 7-10 night holiday man cannot live by tasting menu alone! We have eaten at all the restaurants over the years including El Rincon de Juan Carlos (originally known as Maresia by Hermanos Padron), San Ho, Il Bocconcino (fabulous) , Starfish (recommended), La Trattoria (for more basic pizza and pasta dishes). There is also a fabulous ice cream stand near Corales Villas reception). Based on our last visit, which was to celebrate my partner's 50th birthday, I would recommend Il Bocconcino for superb service fabulous choice of Italian foods and wines (they even managed to rustle up an off menu cheese board and birthday cake), and Starfish for a fabulous friendly service, fresh ceviche and fish (as well as a great selection of cheeses for afterwards). On our most recent visit we had cause to raise small issue regarding our visit to La Trattoria (which as I mentioned earlier offers a simpler menu) but this was quickly resolved, and I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending any of the restaurants in the hotel (or its sister hotel, Corales Villas, a short distance up the hill). In short, Corales Beach is a great place to stay which is why we have come back time and time again. Highly recommended.
