"I wish I had time to write a longer review but this will have to suffice. This is quite simply the nicest resort we've been to yet, and we travel frequently. Spotless facilities (which, for a beach resort is amazing), meticulously well-maintained, the food at every venue was outstanding (but expensive), and superlatives simply fall short of describing the service. To a person the staff everywhere was friendly in their greetings, always helpful, always smiling and polite, but none of it seemed fake or rehearsed. Anything you wanted you got. Rooms were top notch, beach gorgeous, amenities and little extras abound (from beach bags and water bottles to bug spray and suntan lotion). The views and the location are the best on the island. It is close to everything that a tourist would want to see. Minutes to hikes, botanical gardens, volcano and mud baths, Soufriere. Sugar Beach is where the rest of the islands resorts bring their guests to to start their excursions."

"We had the most incredible private boat day thanks to Mervin & Quaid! They truly wore every hat imaginable our DJs, concierge, tour guides, bartenders, scuba instructors, photographers, and so much more. From the moment we stepped on the boat, they made us feel like VIPs and went above and beyond to make every second unforgettable. They were personable, kind, knowledgeable, and so much fun to be around. Whether they were finding the perfect snorkeling spots, teaching us about the island, or making sure the music matched every moment, they did it all with genuine enthusiasm and the biggest smiles. What could have been just a boat excursion became one of the absolute highlights of our honeymoon because of them. If you’re lucky enough to have Mervin & Quaid, you’re in for an unforgettable experience. They don’t just do their jobs they create memories you’ll be talking about long after your trip is over. 10/10."

"This resort has overpriced food and accommodations, with two huge problems turned what was a mediocre experience into a nightmare. 1. Loud, persistent construction noise from an unoccupied villa right next door to our outdoor patio, including circular saws cutting wood and construction workers hammering and shouting 2. A recurring ant infestation covering the sinks, shower, and walls in the primary bathroom Worse was that it took hours of calling and texting during our vacation to get any response more than a perfunctory apology, e.g., waiting while guest-facing staff sought approval from senior managers to halt the construction. The fright my spouse got from walking into the swarm of ants on the bathroom sink, shower, and walls and the fright I got from the bloodcurdling scream I heard my spouse make certainly did not make for a relaxing time. Housekeeping only came to clean up the ants the first night because we expressly requested they do so. Management thought a mere apology and advice would suffice; they told us to turn off all the lights in the bathroom because that is what attracted the ants. Apparently management is not aware that is hard to get dressed and ready for dinner in a dark bathroom. These problems then each persisted for days *after* management apologized and promised the situation would be handled. The construction went on and on (followed later by workman noisily hammering and chiseling the stone steps outside our residence) while the swarm of ants returned again the next night. To add insult to injury, Management's approach to compensation for all the disruption and disturbance was hamfisted, even if it seemed well practiced. Hany the residence manager offered 2 free nights on a return trip. After we told him a return trip was unlikely, he said he would have to speak with his boss Ms. Efe. She decided to credit our bill the equivalent of one-third of one night's room charge. She never discussed it in person with us, but rather conveyed this only through subordinates, Hany and then Laura at reception. In short, while the setting is undeniably beautiful, there are a number of alternative resorts nearby, listed on this site, none of which could possibly be worse. We stayed in an oceanfront residence. The view was beautiful, but the ongoing noise and the stress of it stopping and restarting over the next days, along with the ant infestation, made it hard to enjoy our vacation. The dining options were all extremely overpriced for what they aspired to be, and aside from the breakfast buffet, they were not very good."

"I am embarrassed by how long it has taken me to leave a review for this jaw-dropping, impeccable resort. To not leave a review would be doing a disservice to Sugar Beach and its exceptional staff. My experience with Sugar Beach was phenomenal from the very first contact I had through when it was time to check out of the resort. For reference, my husband and I had our wedding and honeymoon here about a year ago in May 2025 (TripAdvisor only let me go back as far as July 2025). I initially reached out to Sugar Beach in May 2023 about booking my wedding and honeymoon here for May 2025. Lisa Samuel (senior sales manager) was always prompt in replying and immediately set up a Microsoft Teams meeting to discuss the various wedding packages and room types. Rates for 2025 were not yet available at that time so we agreed to reconnect in about a year. When I reached out in May 2024, Lisa was on it. Over the next few months, she went above and beyond to help create the perfect wedding package for my husband and me. I am very particular and I ask a lot of questions, but Lisa was always patient, kind, and went out of her way to explain every detail to me. She then transferred the actual wedding planning over to Natoria Augustin, the events coordinator, who not only did anything and everything she could to make our wedding so special, but our entire trip and honeymoon from start to finish, just absolutely perfect. Before even arriving at Sugar Beach, the service and attention I received was top notch. It led me to have high hopes before even arriving (high hopes of which, were far exceeded). Service: The service at Sugar Beach is second to none. From the moment we arrived at the airport, we felt we were in the best of hands. Highly recommend booking fast track service through Sugar Beach and transfers to and from the airport through Sugar Beach. Also, bring cash. Bring more than you think you will need. As a guest of Sugar Beach, you will be assigned two butlers, ours were Toni and Keri, and they bent over backwards to make our entire stay unforgettable. I cannot say enough positive things about them. Anything (and I really do mean “anything”) we could need or want, they were just a quick text away and were always eager to help in whatever way they could. Keri was so sweet - giving us a group hug when we first arrived and when we left, her genuine excitement for us was tangible, and Toni was beyond helpful - she even helped me get ready on my wedding day for (and during) photos. The two of them are angels - always eager to help, happy to see us, and overly accommodating in every way. We were located in a villa in the 900s, so it was a bit farther for us to walk to certain facilities located on the property, but it never mattered because Sugar Beach has regular shuttles that Toni and Keri would call for us to take us wherever we needed or wanted to go. We never waited long and often got one that just so happened to be driving by at the same time we were walking up to the shuttle stop. Villa and Views: Our villa had the most breathtaking view of Petite Piton and the Caribbean Sea, a view we enjoyed daily from the comfort of our own private pool. We truly felt we were completely isolated from not only the rest of the resort, but the entire island. It felt like our own private oasis away from the rest of the world. Our villa (we had a Superior Luxury Villa) was gorgeous, clean, and spacious. We were in love with our villa and still miss it and talk about it to this day. Location: Located at the base of Petite Piton, right on the Caribbean Sea, the location is unmatched. I did a lot of research before deciding on Sugar Beach, and no other resort location compares in my opinion. You have stunning views from anywhere in the resort and you have access to a beautiful beach. Another amazing perk is that you have the best snorkeling right on the property - I was shocked at how many different species of fish my husband and I saw while snorkeling there. The resort is also conveniently located in Soufriere, which is a section in the south part of the island that is quaint, quiet, and beautiful. It is close to other resorts and outdoor excursions, which allowed us to conveniently venture outside of the resort daily. Food: I wasn’t sure what to expect here, as a lot of the reviews on the food were mixed. However, my husband and I thought the food at Sugar Beach was great. We ate at every restaurant the resort has with the exception of the Cane Bar because it was under renovation when we went, and we enjoyed our meals at every place we tried. Our favorite was the BBQ buffet at Bonte - highly recommend trying it! We also had the breakfast buffet every morning which was awesome - it had a wide variety of all different kinds of breakfast foods and it never got boring. We also ventured to other restaurants outside of the resort for dinner which was always so easy to do thanks to Keri and Toni setting up our reservations and taxi rides to and from dinner. Transportation: Sugar Beach hooked us up with transportation from the moment we got through immigration, baggage claim, and customs. They promptly picked us up once we checked in to the kiosk at the airport and whisked us away to the resort. Whether we needed an on-site shuttle to take us from our villa down to breakfast or we needed a taxi to take us to an off-property restaurant, Toni and Keri never let us down. The transportation/shuttle companies that Sugar Beach partners with for off-site transportation are prompt, communicative, and employ some of the most welcoming people. For the off-site taxis, we ended up loving one driver in particular who we ended up regularly reaching out to directly because we liked him so much. Activities: We were overwhelmed, in a good way, over the amount of activities there are to do right on the property and in Soufriere in general. We got a couples massage at the Rainforest Spa, visited the botanical gardens, hiked the Tet Paul Nature Trail, took a chocolate making class at Sugar Beach, went snorkeling at Sugar Beach, and lounged in the oversized rafts in the Caribbean Sea. Cost: It’s pricey, and that should be obvious to anyone who books a stay here. That being said, it was worth every penny. The attention to detail, service, treatment, and atmosphere made us feel like we were living in a fantasy for a week. This was by far the best vacation my husband and I have ever taken - both separately and together - and we have the wonderful staff at Sugar Beach to thank for that. We have both vacationed to Caribbean islands before, but Saint Lucia has found an unparalleled place in our hearts that will forever remain. The entire experience was surreal and I recommend Sugar Beach to anyone who is looking for a five star experience across the board. You cannot go wrong with this place. Sugar Beach will unquestionably always be the place we stay whenever we come back to this beautiful island, which we already can’t wait to do."

"We had an amazing stay at Sugar Beach. It is a stunning location and everything was exceptional. We stayed for 5 nights and I wish we had an extra day. I read tons of reviews and here is what I agree with from most other reviews: stunning location, gorgeous clean rooms, underutilized main pool-which is great when you use it!, super friendly staff, great breakfast. It is expensive but I am surprised so many people complain about that because you should know that going in since the prices are available. and the app shows you exactly how much you spend each day. We went for our 15 year anniversary so it was a special occasion. The beach is awesome and the snorkeling off the beach was really fun. The main beach gets busy but we always had chairs and it didn’t feel cramped. The other beach was not crowded at all and one time I had it all to myself! The location is landlocked so you can’t go for long walks on the beach, which I missed. Jetty burgers was my favorite meal, but all the restaurants were very very good. Saltwood was very good but fell short of high expectations. The gym is a really nice amenity and was empty when we would go around 10-11 am. They have showers there, so we worked out, then took a quick shower, changed and went to the beach. That avoided having to get a shuttle back to the room. The shuttles add some complication and time but it was worth it for the views from our room. We made a few requests, like a yoga mat in the room, and they quickly accommodated. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would love to come back another time."
