What makes the hotel genuinely interesting, though, is how its interior refuses that architectural inheritance — a renovation that introduced a design sensibility closer to Zurich than to grand Swiss mountain tradition, threading contemporary European craft through spaces that could easily have defaulted to carved pine and cuckoo-clock nostalgia. The common areas carry the renovation's most assured moments: a bar panelled in warm oak with a brass counter top, pendant lights in cylindrical frosted glass descending in a staggered cascade, and a slatted timber screen separating the fireplace seating from the main volume.
