PB hotel design editorial

A classic Haussmann-era facade on Geneva's Rue de Rive — rendered stucco, wrought-iron balconies, dentilled cornice — gives little away about what was renovated inside to create Hotel D Geneva, a property that trades on the contrast between its composed nineteenth-century exterior and an interior scheme of deliberate contemporary intensity. The lobby sets the temperature immediately: a reception desk in dramatically veined black onyx floats against walls clad in gold-lacquered panels pressed with a repeating pyramid motif, the whole composition pitched somewhere between Art Deco revival and contemporary jewellery boutique — appropriate, given Geneva's relationship with precision luxury. The guest rooms carry that energy through in two distinct registers. Some are dressed in deep petrol blue with channelled headboards, scarlet pendant lights, and red accent cushions against grey woven wall panels — a palette with real graphic conviction. Others, particularly the mansard-level rooms where the roofline cuts diagonally through the space, shift into warmer territory: olive and ochre curtains, chartreuse wingback chairs, herringbone oak floors, and globe bedside lamps that reference the mid-century Italian tradition. The breakfast room is the most resolved space of all — cloud-motif wallcovering in silver and grey, copper-fitted pendant lights blowing oversized glass bulbs across the ceiling, cognac leather banquette seating anchoring the back wall. It has the atmosphere of a Parisian brasserie distilled through a Swiss watchmaker's eye for finish.

Hotel D Geneva Reviews

"We stayed at Hotel D Geneva for five nights, and from the moment we arrived, we were made to feel genuinely welcome. There was such a warm, positive atmosphere, thanks to Teddy and his wonderful team. We would like to say a huge thank you for making our stay so enjoyable. Whether it was providing directions to Geneva’s popular attractions or recommending fantastic local restaurants, nothing was ever too much trouble. Their patience, friendliness, and professionalism were truly appreciated. The breakfast offered all the essentials and was the perfect way to start each day before heading out to explore the city. The hotel’s location is another major advantage—just a five-minute walk from Geneva Cornavin train station and the main bus station, where many sightseeing tours depart. We would highly recommend Hotel D Geneva to anyone planning a visit to Geneva. The exceptional service, convenient location, and welcoming atmosphere made our stay a memorable one."

"Lovely hotel, very friendly and helpful staff (Pauline in particular), great location (10min walk to the water taxi across to the shopping area and the old town), clean and modern room. We got a free travel card for the duration of your our stay which was an added bonus! Thankfully had aircon as it was very warm when we stayed. The Chinese restaurant nextdoor is incredible, we ended up having dinner there both consecutive nights! Our “cosy” room was perfect for a short stay although a little cramped for any longer. No bar, but they will happily bring cocktails to your room! Nice touch. Will be back."

"Great stay! The hotel was clean, comfortable, and in a great location, with everything within easy reach. A special thanks to Eloise, who was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The only suggestion I have is to add a full-length mirror in the room. It would make getting ready much easier. The bathroom mirror is a bit too far away, and the small mirror is highly magnified, which made it uncomfortable to use. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this hotel."
