"The location is quite central, so you can walk to everything. There’s shops right on the doorstep, and tons of restaurants (although the ones in the hotel are excellent). The hotel is quite modern but still keeps the feel of the older buildings which is lovely. The room was quite large and roomy and the housekeeping service faultless. The breakfast was next level - best we had in our travels. The thing that really stood out was service. The check in seamless, the concierge always one step ahead and teams in the restaurants very accommodating. This is everything you’d expect from a 5 star hotel and more. It’s not cheap, but you definitely get what you pay for. We would definitely stay there again."

"From the moment we arrived we were warmly greeted by the staff. They managed to anticipate our every need and never forgot our faces or room number whenever we passed through the lobby. The room was spacious and well maintained and the cleaning was immaculate. We dined at two of the restaurants (AuGust and the Garden) and had delicious meals at both. Great location near the river and an easy walk to the old town. We would strongly recommend."

"My wife and I recently stayed at the Widder Hotel and were very pleased by the entire experience. As others have commented, the location is convenient to much of the city. We walked down to the lake, up and down the main street (Bahnhofstrasse), across a couple of bridges and up to the university (ETH), over to the old botanical garden, and various other places. The room we had (205) overlooked the street, but was very quiet, especially at night. The room itself was great, with a very large main area and a separate large bathroom with a very nice rainfall shower. Breakfast was a treat, with a fine array of various foods available and also the option to order from a menu. There is a library for a relaxing change of pace and a garden area for another place to sit and relax. Lastly, but probably of the utmost importance, the staff is superb. Not only are they friendly, they also clearly make a great effort to ensure that your stay is comfortable and pleasing. I particularly want to commend Marco and Katharina at the concierge desk. They gave us great recommendations for dining and for exploring the city (for example, the Sternen Grill and the old botanical garden, which we probably would not have done on our own). Who knows when we will return to Zurich, but we are certain of where we will stay."

"Great hotel! It’s charming, interesting has great ambience and well-trained staff. Location is very good-you can walk to everything. Lovely rooms with comfortable beds and top-notch appointments. Only caveat-you must able to climb stairs. I was there with my 87 year old mother-in-law and the steps were a bit of a challenge for her. The Widder is the definition of a boutique hotel."
