PB hotel design editorial

Two crystalline towers shearing skyward above Ploenchit Road, their faceted glass facades catching Bangkok's bruised dusk light at angles that shift with every hour — this is the silhouette that announces Rosewood Bangkok, designed by the Spanish architect Carlos Ferrater and completed in 2019. The 30-storey structure, containing 159 keys, was conceived as a composition of interlocking geometric forms whose angled curtain wall planes visible in the images give each guestroom an oblique relationship to the city below, the raked glazing cutting across corners in a way that renders the standard tower floor plate almost unrecognisable from within. Inside, interior designer Neri&Hu drew a line between architectural drama and domestic warmth that the property walks with some confidence. The guestrooms balance deep-buttoned upholstered headboards in muted plum and sage-green linen against coffered plasterwork ceilings — a classical gesture held in productive tension with the slanting curtain wall pressing in at the room's edge. The lap pool, set within a compressed canyon between the towers' lower plinths, is flanked by vertical gardens and travertine-toned stone walls that cool the whole composition down. The bar, reached via a gilded brass spiral stair, lines its counter with warm walnut, suspended globe pendants on brass stems multiplying their reflections against the angled glazing — the kind of room that earns its view rather than simply claiming it.

About

A visually stunning, vertical architectural marvel, Rosewood Bangkok’s contemporary form is inspired by the wai, the famous Thai gesture of greeting. The silhouette is a creative expression of the Thai spirit. Rich Thai culture is also emphasized by interior design and the stunning water features within the hotel that are a tribute to Bangkok, a city built on water. The 30-story ultra-luxury hotel is located in a prime location in the heart of downtown Bangkok along Ploenchit Road and directly connected to Ploenchit Skytrain Station. Rosewood Bangkok offers 158 rooms including signature suites and houses with outdoor terraces and private plunge pool. The hotel offers dynamic dining outlets from Chinese contemporary Nan Bei, offering signature and stylish cuisine from Northern and Southern Chinese regions to Lakorn European Brasserie and lobby lounge. G + O is an upscale cafe that brings the farm-to-table ethos to life. Lennon’s is an intimate and stylish vinyl shop speakeasy bar.

"What a wonderful stay we had - totally pampered and looked after impeccably. Sandra and her team are fantastic. Lisha at the front desk patiently showed us around and her recommendations were very good as to which room we should stay in for our 10 day stay. She was absolutely right. The restaurants and food are worth mentioning as well as their in room dining. I would like to mention that the cleanliness was 11/10 ! Thank you so much for making our trip a memorable one !"

"The room is stunning, very comfortable and decently sized. The amenities are also great. Service was mostly very good and professional. The letdown of the hotel has to do with the common areas. They were very limited (tiny pool and gym, small bar) and mostly very busy. To top it off, the hotel feels very corporate, in a tall building with no real views. And perhaps the biggest drawback is its size and guest portfolio. The hotel was hosting a few different big groups, and they would ocasionally take over the lobby or restaurants to plan their activities. Not a premium feeling. The hotel is moderately priced, though, which I think is fair and makes it a reasonable pick, if you know what you are getting out of it."

"The understated elegance of Rosewood Bangkok makes it an exceptional place to stay in the heart of the city. Perfectly located in central Bangkok, it offers a calm, refined sanctuary while keeping you effortlessly connected to everything the city has to offer. From the moment you arrive, the service is impeccable. Every interaction feels warm, genuine, and thoughtfully considered. The team are charming, attentive, and clearly invested in making your stay the very best it can be — not through excess, but through quiet confidence and flawless execution. This is a truly classy affair. Breakfast alone is reason enough to stay — beautifully curated, generous, and quite simply fit for a king. It sets the tone for the day ahead and reflects the property’s commitment to quality in every detail. A particular highlight is the visible and approachable Managing Director, present and engaged, calmly overseeing the operation. It creates an immediate sense of trust — you feel you are in exceptionally capable hands. The whole hotel moves with purpose, professionalism, and ease, delivering exactly what you would expect from a Rosewood property. Another standout for us was meeting the wonderful Lita who took exceptional care of us at breakfast each morning and the delightful lady that brilliantly managed breakfast seating each day that we arrived at Lakorn - she was warm friendly and efficient, nothing was too much trouble. And last but certainly not least, the wonderful Ohm at the concierge desk, constantly checking in to see that arrangements were spot on even when we were away from the hotel - his WhatsApp notes were timely and reassuring. Thank you ! We left feeling genuinely valued and cared for at every touchpoint, which is perhaps the greatest luxury of all. This is a hotel that stays with you long after you’ve checked out — and one that immediately has you thinking about when you can return. Highly recommended and firmly on the go-to list for any trip to Bangkok."
