"I think I should start by saying this is definitely one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in … with everything from check in to check out, absolutely perfect. So here’s the detail …
Location - 5 minute walk from the main fisherman’s village walking street, the location is ideal. Far enough away so you don’t experience any noise, close enough for a great selection of bars, restaurants, shops. It’s also just off the main road, but again absolutely no noise. The front of the hotel leads onto the beach for easy access. There’s also a Top’s supermarket less than five minutes away which was really useful.
Check In - we arrived lunchtime and our room wasn’t quite ready but we were given cold towels, complementary drinks, and after a short wait we were in the room. Staff on reception so welcoming and helpful. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very special.
Room - nice size, very comfy bed, safe, fridge, good number of power sockets. Air con was very good and really needed after a day on the beach. Large TV with reasonable mix of channels but hey who wants to watch TV when you’re on holiday !! Bathroom very clean with large rain shower which we loved. Really good selection of toiletries and other sanitary items including a mosquito spray which was very effective. We also had a small balcony although didn’t find the need to use it. Housekeeping was excellent and the room spotless every day.
Breakfast - amazing selection with my personal highlights being the mango/fruit smoothies, shrimp dim sum, and the noodle soup. For those a little less adventurous there’s a great selection of continental bread/pastries cheese etc cereals, omelettes and more. Not forgetting fresh fruit and juices. The service at breakfast was excellent and made a fabulous way to start every day.
Restaurant - we didn’t eat in the restaurant as spoiled for choice elsewhere but we did partake in the Spice Spoons cookery class which was amazing. We had the choice of four dishes so went for Satay, Massaman curry, Phad Thai, and a Prawn Red curry. The flavours were out of this world and we can’t wait to take our newfound skills back to our own kitchen.
Pool Area - Pool was great, very deep at one end, but less than a metre at the other. On most days there were enough sunbeds although it did get busy at weekends. As always a few idiots who try to reserve butwe did witness the hotel removing items to free up beds. There were also a couple of jacuzzi areas with some very relaxing bubbles.
The bar area was very friendly serving a good selection of drinks and food. Obviously more expensive than some of the local bars it’s still more than affordable. They also offer two happy hours one from 5 pm to 6 pm and the other 9 pm to 10 pm with drinks on two for one. The staff at the bar were excellent and a special mention to both Milk and Pond for both their service and friendship.
Beach - the hotel has a private area of beach with lots of sunbeds and even a button to press if you want to drink. This office is sake the sand is a little course however it’s a good way to tone your feet ha ha. The sea is fabulous to swimming and was very calm every day we were there. Be careful of the current because they can be a little bit strong if you go further out. One added bonus is watching the sea eagles who flew by a couple of times a day.
Activities - quite a few on offer … we did the sound bath which was very relaxing and had a go in the gym.
Staff - wow, just wow …. The staff are amazing … so friendly, so polite, so helpful, so engaging , so efficient, so professional, and so customer focussed. I can honestly say overall it’s the best service we’ve had anywhere, it’s also so natural. One person who deserves a special mention is Sandy the guest relations manager. What a lovely lady, so helpful, and always full of smiles. A huge thank you to all of the staff for making our stay so special.
Overall - we had the most fabulous stay. the hotel comes highly recommended, and we hope to return one day soon."
