PB hotel design editorial

Planted on the western crescent of Palm Jumeirah with the Burj Al Arab visible across the water to the south, Taj Exotica Resort & Spa arranges its white-rendered wings in a broad horseshoe that frames a ribbon pool and private beach in a single unbroken gesture. The massing borrows from Mediterranean resort architecture — arched apertures, cornice detailing, copper-domed pavilions at the corners — while the aerial view reveals the full scale of the undertaking: a property of around 600 rooms and suites spread across eight floors, with one of the longest private beach frontages on the Palm. Inside, the interiors work a palette of warm champagne, walnut timber slats, and a recurring teal that echoes the Gulf beyond every window. Fabric-upholstered headboard panels in linen-coloured sections are framed by vertical wood reeding, with bed runners in ikat-patterned teal and gold establishing the signature colour note across room categories. The upper-floor suites push the glazing to floor-to-ceiling, framing direct sightlines across the pool terrace to Atlantis on the opposite crescent. At beach level, the Lime Bar introduces the property's most architecturally confident moment: a sculptural timber column that fans outward into a palm-frond canopy of radiating wood slats, the bar counter clad in cobalt mosaic tile beneath it — a detail that earns its place among the Gulf's more considered resort interventions.

"Just WOW! This is our first time staying at Taj and can guarantee that it wont be the last - as we have already made a booking for it again for next year's holiday. From the moment you walk in it’s a homely feeling. The staff are so hospitable - we were greeted with beautiful necklace and a welcome drink. As we were hear for our anniversary they kindly gave us a room upgrade and we are so thankful and will always remember that gesture. Room: The children loved the larger room- its was a luxury family suite with a lovely 4 chair dining area & mini fridge with coffee machine, sofabed living area with a 55" tv, desk area, a large bedroom with king bed another huge tv, a roll out bed was requested for our daughter. There was a walkin wardrobe/luggage area with full size mirrors, The bathroom is huge with separate toilet, bathtub & walkin shower, huge double sink and there's also a separate powder room/ toilet which our daughter absolutely loved to have her own space. We had some anniversary gestures layed out for us in room and something sweet for kids too. It’s the little things that make it for personal. Food: We had a full board package so had a couple of restaurants to choose from but we always dined in the main buffet restaurants for breakfast/dinner and the a la carte poolside restaurant for lunch. The food was amazing with lots to choose from the different areas, a daily menu was put for custom made to order with live kitchen. You really couldn't decide what to eat - and the portion sizes were massive. Pool: This has to be one of the largest and best pools we've seen in hotel. It's so big - 1.6m depth across all areas so you wouldn't have to worry about deep end. The atmosphere was so calm, chilled and the pool staff really couldn't do enough for you. Our daughter is one of the fussiest hard to please teenager but Taj "you have sold her the dream", she's lost for words from the food choice, room size/quality, pool area, hospitality of staff just beyond worlds. Now she wont allow us to look up hotel choices- it has to be Taj! It felt like home away from home. We loved it so much we've already booked it for March 2027 holiday. See you again soon Taj Exotica. (I don' t have anything negative to say about Taj but just a recommendation. The pool cabannas were reserved by guests by 8am who then went to have breakfast and didn't actually come to sit on them till 11am. This isn't fair on those guests who actually want to use them - so maybe don't allow people to reserve them unless they are actually going to sit on them straight away.)"

"From Feb 8 till Feb 15 , 2026 me and my family stayed at the Taj hotel in Dubai in jumairah , It was the worst experience ever , it was the dirtiest hotel ever , after staying for 6 nights , my kid by accident threw water on the mattress so because it was wet we pulled the sheet off and as soon as we pulled the sheet off , we noticed old piss all over the mattress , so we called the hotel manager and the maintenance person name Tajseet who was the manager came and said that they will take care of us but never did , the next day went to lobby downstairs and talked to Maryam about the incident and she said that Tajseet the manager will take care of us , he never did , nobody ever cared , as long as they got their money they cared, it was the most disrespectful, disgusting place ever , in which I thought that I took my family to a 5 star hotel , please do not go there or stay there, worst place , worst hotel , they don’t even deserve a 1 star ."
