White stucco walls, terracotta barrel-tile roofs, and arched colonnades frame a central courtyard where a bronze figurative fountain sits beneath mature Mexican fan palms, the San Jacinto Mountains rising dramatically behind. The property was later home to the Welwood Murray Memorial Library before its conversion into a hotel, and its low-slung bungalow scale — single-storey casitas arranged across landscaped grounds — preserves the feeling of a private compound rather than a hospitality operation.
