"The hotel is a boutique style and beautifully nestled right below Del Mar's major attractions. It's proximity to the beach and local restaurants can't be beat! We enjoyed relaxing by the pool and hot tub. We ate at the pool bar and the food was great and service was friendly. We also enjoyed seeing that they were dog friendly even though we didn't have a dog with us ourself. Apparently they do dog happy hours at this hotel where you bring your dog and enjoy human and dog cocktails together. We want to bring our dogs back with us! Room 244 review: I wasn't thrilled to walk into the room to see that the only window in this room was near the top of the ceiling and then looked out onto the deck where people often walked by. Our room was essentially "underground". I almost called the front desk to ask if we could move to a more normal set up. I was pretty disappointed. The room itself was comfortable but I wasn't happy with the lack of sunlight and also the fact that we couldn't open the window unless we wanted to be looked into. For the price paid for the room I would expect more to be honest. That being said the bed was comfortable. The bathroom grout was pretty discolored/dirty looking - I would advise housekeeping to look into this. Despite the negatives, I would definitely return to this resort but next stay I would make sure we weren't in a room that is underground. To be completely honest, I think that room should be half the price as the others with a normal window."
