PB hotel design editorial

The all-inclusive model feels almost countercultural in downtown Palo Alto, where the prevailing instinct is to monetize every transaction and optimize every experience. The Clement Palo Alto built its identity around the opposite premise — every meal, minibar, wine hour, and airport transfer folded into a single rate — which shapes the atmosphere of the property as much as any design decision. The hotel sits on Huntington Avenue in a contemporary low-rise building, its 23 suites arranged across a modest footprint that keeps the scale deliberately residential. Interiors lean into the vocabulary of a well-funded California home rather than a corporate hotel: warm wood paneling, upholstered window seats, kitchen areas fitted with proper appliances, and living rooms furnished to accommodate the kind of extended stay that Silicon Valley business travel demands. The palette works in soft neutrals anchored by richer textiles, and individual suite configurations give guests the feeling of having borrowed someone's well-appointed apartment. The images show sitting areas with tailored sofas and reading lamps placed for actual use, dining tables set for in-suite meals, and bathrooms finished with stone detailing that avoids the anonymous gleam of the hotel category. For a city whose residents have largely redefined how technology companies operate globally, The Clement offers something genuinely unusual — attentive, all-included hospitality delivered at a scale where the staff can realistically know every guest by name.

"We had lots of issues with accessible bathroom, in-room dining cold breakfast food & missing items, In-room dining food substandard served medium to lukewarm. Did not get to enjoy Managers reception because we were never told, could not the Jury Room because our key did not work. Never received turn down service during our 5 night stay. Would not recommend to stay .Did not have a 5star all-inclusive stay."

"The Clement was fantastic. The food was excellent, the drinks were top notch, the service felt like having my own private staff. Anything we needed was taken care of immediately. There were so many small touches that made it really lovely. Everything from the fresh sliced fruit tray and cheese trays to the quality of the sparkling wine and cocktails was perfect. I loved being asked if we wanted a fire started outside for us, and just in general making us aware of options and amenities. We were upgraded without asking when we checked in, and our suite was beautiful and roomy. The was a hand written note waiting and a full mini fridge with cold drinks and snacks. The heated floors and huge bathtub were nice touches. Everything was perfectly clean, and although we didn’t use the turndown service, it was great that they asked instead of having to request it. It makes it so much nicer when amenities are offered rather than needing to be requested. Food and drinks were brought to the room quickly and served beautifully. I was even running late at breakfast time and they rushed up eggs, toast, and coffee within minutes while I packed. Other details like parking in the gated garage (I didn’t use the free valet but it was offered) and safety measures made it all seem seamless. I genuinely can’t wait to go back for another staycation."

"I’ve been coming to The Clement Hotel in Palo Alto for a few years now, and it’s one of the rare places that gets better every time. It’s a true all-inclusive stay with meals, drinks, and snacks all covered, and the experience is just remarkable. Our first long stay was in 2021 when my wife had surgery. We chose to stay here for a week while she recovered. They had a wheelchair waiting for us when we arrived. There was a hand written welcome note. The room was spotless and calm. They anticipated our needs in ways we didn’t expect, and it made a tough week a lot easier. The rooms deserve their own mention. Every room is a suite, with a living room and a separate bedroom. Lots of natural light, electric blinds, and plenty of space to actually relax. Bathrooms have both a shower and a tub. There truly aren’t any bad rooms here. The service is what keeps us coming back. Many of the same team members have been here since we started coming in 2020, which says a lot. Sebastian, who’s now the GM, Gayle, and Bernie have all been outstanding on every visit. Warm, genuine, and attentive. Food is always tasty, with seasonal menus and more variety than you’d expect from an all inclusive setup. Five stars, without hesitation. I couldn’t recommend The Clement more. It’s easily one of the best hotel experiences in the Bay Area."

"The hotel amenities (heated floors, a standalone tub, snacks/food included) and the primo location made this our hotel for any future PA visits. Gail at the front desk was a wonderful greeter and ambassador for the hotel. She took the time to show us around and was very helpful. The hotel is directly across from Stanford University, and you can easily spend 2 days exploring the campus. Don't miss 1) Cantor Museum with a revolving artist display and the Rodan garden, 2) the Hoover Tower, where you can take the elevator to the top for an awesome 360 view, 3) the Stanford Bookstore, which has an amazing book selection you won't find elsewhere. Downtown PA (University Ave) is a quick 10-minute walk from the hotel."

"Good location for my needs, friendly and helpful staff but for me the vibe was flat and more corporate than interesting. The food that I had was fine and kitchen staff nice...again more corporate than interesting. Not unhappy with the experience but wouldn't stay again - there's better for the price..."
