PB hotel design editorial

At the edge of Denver's Union Station neighborhood, where the city's most energetic redevelopment district meets the Front Range ambition of a mountain town that grew into a metropolis, the Limelight Hotel Denver sets a tone that is deliberately caught between urban and alpine. Developed by Aspen Skiing Company as an extension of its Limelight brand beyond its Colorado mountain origins, the property draws its design language from the same vernacular as its Aspen and Ketchum siblings — knotty pine wall panels, plaid wool upholstery, herringbone walnut floors, leather-tufted Chesterfield chairs — and transplants that mountain-lodge warmth into a purpose-built structure with the steel-and-glass curtain wall vocabulary of a city hotel. The interiors navigate that tension with considerable skill. Exposed concrete columns sit alongside burnished knotty pine ceilings, the rooms pairing dark leather headboards and plaid accent pillows with mid-century walnut desks and matte black task lamps — a mix that has more in common with a well-appointed ski chalet than a downtown business hotel. Sliding barn doors in blackened steel, raw timber bathroom doors, and woven leather sling chairs around the lobby fireplace reinforce a material palette that stays coherent across every space. The entrance sequence, visible in the images at dusk, arrives through a covered porte-cochère with a patinated bronze ceiling alongside a perforated screen wall, easing the transition between the city street and the deliberately unhurried interior atmosphere beyond.

"We were there for the Olivia Dean concert and are Chase Sapphire Reserve card holders. Let me tell you. My sister and my Mom were with me and what an amazing experience. Location is amazing and safe. Great staff and employees! Super clean and all the amenities make this hotel! Truly one of the best stays I have had in a long time! Thank you for making our experience amazing. Also the drip coffee, coffee machine and water stations throughout the hotel was such a perk!"

"We had such a great experience at the Boulder Limelight we decided to try their Denver property for a few nights as we stayed to see friends and family. Unfortunately our stay was not as enjoyable as in Boulder. The overnight parking is $64 per night. Yes that right its high and I live in Chicago. Fortunately we discovered that they park with SpotHero which reduced the cost to $33 per night. Although it is well located in "LODO" it is not easy to navigate with traffic from concerts and games. The rooms as nice but don't as nice as Boulder. Same with gym. And there is no pool. There are lots of restaurants close by including a wonderful Italian restaurant Tavernetta is attached to the hotel. Overall the staff was attentive and helpful but not very personable. In fact, they lacked any excitement or courtesy often found with luxury hotels as they self brand. We returned late Saturday night around 10:30pm with no-one outside. It's valet parking. We waited a few minutes and then a guy came out of the hotel. He was not friendly and then I reminded him of the parking receipt in the front window of the car which tells the valet we are guests and return parkers. He made a flippant response and walked off. I then stepped into the lobby confirming with the two people at the front desk that he was the valet. One of the reps made a couple of off handed remark in response. I clarified my question as the supposed valet did not look like the other valets and I just wanted to verify he was the valet. The front desk clerk, made another comment that made me stop and turn to say, your tone and response with me is unacceptable. Unfortunately, it really upset me and kept me up for a while. As I thought about it, the overall impression of the hotel staff is that they are not happy and it's just a job. Not what you usually expect. I hope that my interaction was just their team member having a bad day and not an anti-gay slur (though we did not see other same-sex couples in the hotel or neighborhood). The hotel itself is nice, comfortable and quiet. But like much of Denver this trip, it is expensive for what you get. They need to better match to their newer property in Boulder."

"I’m in love with this hotel! Easy breezy check in and a wine spritz too … yes please! Cozy lobby with water and coffee and happy birds by the elevator - love them! The wood accents - love! Plant near the elevator, gorgeous artwork, mountain in the closet, humidifier for guest use - love each and every thoughtful touch here. Rooms have a safe, stocked mini fridge, snacks, espresso machine, QR code for room service! Love the welcome text / concierge service. Bed and pillows are comfy, curtains block out light and shower was perfect! Nice soaking tub if interested and counter room for toiletries in bathroom. Full size toiletries for use including liquid hand soap- thank you! Housekeeping was great. Corner King room is spacious, clean, and decor is cozy and warm. Location was great just steps away from Union Station, a short Lyft to Cherry Creek, a short walk to Ball Arena and great restaurant options near by, Whole Foods across the Street and a park right up and over the steps over the train tracks."
