PB hotel design editorial

Cherry Creek's positioning as Denver's most self-consciously sophisticated neighborhood — part gallery district, part serious retail corridor — set a particular challenge for the Jacquard Hotel, which opened in 2018 as part of Marriott's Autograph Collection. The nine-story building, designed by Denver-based OZ Architecture, presents a curtain-wall facade of dark-framed floor-to-ceiling glazing above a transparent ground-floor podium, its massing confident enough for the corner site without attempting the kind of architectural statement that would age badly. The name itself is a textile reference — a nod to the Jacquard loom and, by extension, to the woven complexity of the neighborhood it serves. Inside, the 201 rooms carry a palette of warm taupe, brushed oak headboard panels with recessed reading lights, white lacquer work surfaces, and graphite-toned carpet in an abstract branching pattern that keeps the scheme from reading as too corporate. The rooftop pool deck is the property's clearest gesture toward atmosphere: a glowing lap pool and flanking hot tub face west toward the Front Range, with the Denver skyline visible to the north at dusk, oversized cylindrical black lamp standards anchoring the terrace furniture. The ground-floor bar and restaurant deploys a floor-to-ceiling glass wine wall as its organizational device, separating the bar — tan leather counter stools, pendant drum shades in greige — from a dining room whose feature wall carries trompe l'oeil bookshelf wallcovering, an arch nod to Cherry Creek's literary and cultural pretensions.

"The Jacquard, Autograph Collection Denver A boutique hotel restaurant that offers tasty vittles and libations 1059603474 We were in Denver to celebrate our grandson’s graduation from college and sought out a site for Sunday brunch after the ceremony. Jacquard Restaurant, located in the hotel of the same name (on Milwaukee Street) that was a perfect location. Jacquard served up a seasonally inspired menu using locally sourced produce and meats. Chef Paul Nagan is the virtuoso behind this concept. We were seated in front of an open kitchen where we were able to have discourse with the brunch chef and his sous chefs as they prepared offerings for the guest diners. We thoroughly enjoyed the repartee while watching the line cooks at work. While many of our group had mimosas and bloody Mary’s, I chose a tart cherry smoothie made with cherries, a banana, acai, and orange juice. It was delicious. While deciding on our mains, we ordered beignets and lobster corndogs for the table. The beignets were served with an expresso whip and chocolate dipping sauce and the corndogs with a jalapeno gel and smoke pepper honey. Reid ordered the smoked salmon benedict served on toasted sourdough, with dill cream cheese, frisee, hollandaise sauce and a baby greens salad. “G” had the burrata salad mad with kale mix, poached pears, grapefruit, orange and drizzled with a white balsamic vinaigrette. Aidan had breakfast tacos which contained eggs mixed with crispy fried corn tortilla chips , avocado, bell peppers, chorizo, and pepper jack cheese, with both red and green salsa. ANG had a fried chicken sandwich. The fried thigh was brined in buttermilk and served with chow-chow, roasted Fresno aioli, and citrus honey on toasted brioche. Gina had a double patty, smash burger covered with caramelized onion, cheddar cheese and served with a pickle and smoke tomato aioli. Jan enjoyed her blueberry crunch pancakes which were covered with almonds, granola, maple syrup and sprinkled with powdered sugar. I had the Jacquard omelet that encompassed rosemary ham and Boursin cheese. It was served with sliced avocado and baby greens salad. I chose sourdough bread for my toast. Arlee had the egg white Florentine served with mushrooms, roasted tomato, spinach, feta, baby greens salad and choice of toast. We all enjoyed our choice of coffees which ranged from Americano, lattes and Cappuccinos. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal and accompanying libations and beverages. While I cannot speak to the boutique hotel that houses this restaurant by the same name, I do heartily recommend Jacquard to you."

"It's a lovely new hotel and the amenities are good. Nice pool and hot tub as well as a gym. But, staying in a corner room, the bathroom is not suited for two people getting ready at the same time. They use a lot of glass partitions and the glass partition between the toilet and the shower is clear. You can see everything everywhere. All fine if you are a single but as a couple? There are some things that are nice to remain a mystery in a relationship. The outside doors to the toilet and shower are semi opaque, so they work well enough. I hope the hotel will rectify this one mistake in an otherwise nice hotel stay. If not, well as a couple, we will stay at one of the older Cherry Creek hotels that has real doors."

"The hotel was stunning—modern, stylish, and with a wonderful staff. I didn’t eat in the restaurant, but I did stop by for a glass of wine or two. While there were a fair number of guests (around 50–60), the space felt open and never crowded. The rooftop pool was fantastic, and the views were even better. There was some construction happening nearby, but it was hardly noticeable from my room. The hotel is located in a thriving area full of shops, bars, and restaurants. The room itself was very modern and extremely comfortable—truly a great stay."

"This hotel should not be an "Autograph Collection" Marriott. The rooms are tiny and dark, the bathroom setup is poor (small mirror, there is a clear glass wall between the toilet and shower. Do I really want to see someone going to the bathroom while I am showering???, etc.) It's in a great location. That is the only positive aspect of this hotel. I've stayed in high-end Marriott hotels (Ritz Carlton) and low-end (Courtyard) and the Jacquard is definitely not worth what they charge for a room."
