"Have been to the Vail Valley several times but this was the first time staying at the Sonnenalp. The stay was perfect, starting with all of their staff. Everyone we met was extremely helpful, from the valet staff, the concierge, the waiters at the restaurant and the housekeeping staff. The location could not be perfect, walk anywhere in Vail, or just take the In Town free shuttle. Rented a car in Denver and just used it once. Next time arrange for a shuttle from the airport."

"My husband and I spent his birthday in vail. When said I planned for dozens of hours, reading and researching, I am not over exaggerating - and it was all worth it. The Sonnenalp is a gem. Vail is gorgeous of course, but the Sonnenalp will transport you to a European classic luxury hotel, right in the US. The atmosphere is lovely, you really feel like you are in a hotel in Europe (Switzerland or Bavaria), the food is delicious and high quality, and the staff are wonderful. Highly recommend eating at the Kings Club for n a night they have live music (such a great vibe), eat at the Swiss Chalet a day where you were hiking or skiing up until close before dinner so you are starving, and eat at Billy Ranch on a day where you need a late-ish dinner and want to head right back to your room for a hot bath and bedtime. My husband twisted his ankle on the first hike - so sad - and while he was healing up, Victor at concierge tracked down crutches for him to borrow! That was above and beyond. Another wonderful staff member that went above and beyond to make my husband’s birthday special, despite the twisted ankle, was Virag at the Kings Club and at Billy Ranch - she is one of those people with the best of talents in hospitality - ask for her! Also Charisse and Johanna at breakfast will take great care of you, and truly care that you are celebrating! Charisse had great knowledge of the area and we so enjoyed chatting! Christina was a lovely server as well - she was all throughout the hotel, and provides excellent care so ask for her! Victor and John - at concierge have them help plan your trip - so helpful! Go to the spa, it’s expensive but Mark is so worth it. His massages are educational as well - I am doing some stretches now at home to help my problem areas. Ask for Zyrha at the spa - she will help you get all scheduled with the biggest smile and most helpful personality! At Swiss Chalet - ask for Sigi - just order what she tells you to, the menu is a bit overwhelming and she knows most people don’t know what to order. Just listen to her and let your night flows as smoothly as the fondu!!! Rooms are amazing. 302 had a nice view with a little sweet balcony and huge tub. Never skip turndown service, it’s so lovely! 10/10 can’t wait to come back!"

"We absolutely loved our stay. The hotel is very clean, extremely well kept and in an excellent location. The staff was friendly and very attentive. The adjacent restaurants on the property maintained that same level of standard. We will stay here again when whenever we visit Vail."
