The valet team was prompt and courteous, the reception check-in process was smooth and welcoming, and every staff member I encountered was incredibly friendly and professional. "Stayed here for 3 nights..combined business trip and leisure. Location is excellent for seeing the sights and easy walking distance to several different metro lines as well as the convention center. Area felt safe. Front desk staff (Pablo?) was very kind and helpful re: late check out etc. Room size good. Room was quiet and nice bathroom. AC was a bit loud. King bed OK. Comforter a bit warm, but I find this to be the case everywhere. Restaurant food (pasta dishes) was actually better than it appeared at first glance, and it was convenient for our first night. Did not eat breakfast there....lots of good coffee and tourist cafe spots in the area. I would recommend this spot especially for people "new" to the area."

"Our stay at Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square stood out mainly thanks to its excellent location — many of Washington’s most iconic landmarks are within walking distance. The hotel itself felt elegant and peaceful, and everything was kept exceptionally clean throughout our stay. Our room was always perfectly serviced and well maintained, which we truly appreciated after long days spent exploring the city. Breakfast was excellent — our favorite dishes were definitely the Eggs Benedict and the Avocado Toast. Another highlight is the hotel’s French restaurant Opaline (you can read more about this restaurant in our next review). During the day, guests can also enjoy complimentary coffee, teas, and lemonade in the lobby and small library area. The hotel also features a well-equipped fitness center, although we did miss having a sauna available. Of course, no stay is ever completely perfect. We were slightly surprised that the minibar was entirely empty, with only a QR code linking to the restaurant menu. Toiletries and tea selections were also not consistently replenished during our stay, and we personally missed having a bidet in the bathroom. What truly elevated the experience, however, was the service. A special thank you goes to Jahki at the reception, who was exceptionally friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful throughout our entire stay. Overall, it is a beautiful and very well-located hotel in the heart of Washington DC — ideal for travelers looking for comfort, walkability, and a refined atmosphere."
