"Superb one night stay in a courtyard facing room - which was I believe the most quiet room I’ve had in a city hotel in recent years. No sirens or traffic honking, just pleasant natural light coming in. The bed was comfortable, everything worked in the room, and the bathroom felt clean and luxurious. Complementary cookies and iced tea welcomed me (and all guests) in the evening. I enjoyed 2 truly excellent craft cocktails in the hotel bar. Although this hotel is two decades old, it did not seem worn out to me at all. Staff were attentive and friendly and professional. The nightly rates are high - yet there is still value here, especially when compared to similar hotels at major cities around the world. Was able to walk easily to Georgetown, GW, the national mall, and the White House area. Metro from DCA to foggy bottom (2-3 blocks from hotel) was super easy and fast - and felt very safe."

"We stayed at The Ritz-Carlton in D.C. and it was a phenomenal weekend getaway. The hotel absolutely nailed it—the vibe is totally upscale, and the service is spot on. The front desk team were super welcoming and went out of their way to make sure we were perfectly taken care of.We got a room overlooking the courtyard, and that was definitely the way to go. Right outside our window was a cascading water feature, and the soft, soothing sound honestly made it feel like a cozy rainy day. We slept like babies! Between the sound of the water, the insanely comfortable beds, and the solid soundproofing, it was the best sleep ever. The room itself was super spacious, spotless, and bright—relax without feeling cramped.The West End location is perfect. The neighborhood is quiet and safe, but you can easily walk over to historic Georgetown in about 10 minutes. Getting to the Smithsonians and the National Mall is also a breeze by Uber or the metro (the Foggy Bottom station is right around the corner).A huge shoutout to the team for hooking us up with a late check-out. It was a total game-changer for our evening flight! Instead of killing time hauling luggage around, we got to enjoy a relaxing morning walk around the city, head back to pack up without stressing, and just chill in the room.This place made our D.C. trip feel like a true luxury experience. We will absolutely be back!"

"This Ritz Carlton is a staple in the West End. I have frequented this hotel for decades; however, it appears to not have had an update besides the restaurants. The rooms are quite dated and not fitting of the Ritz Carlton brand. The lounge is still popular but the furnishings are in need of replacement. Some of the seating is dirty, tattered and much too low for the average lounger. Despite the service, I will elect to stay at another Ritz Carlton in the future"

"PRO: Service was top notch. For anniversary celebration and platinum elite status, they gave me quiet high floor room on courtyard side. Room service did give a nice anniversary dessert which was great and wonderful for pictures! For the amount I paid (discounted rate) it was great. I don't think the non-discounted price would be worth it. Stay overall was very comfortable, walking distance to subway (9 or 14 minutes depending on the line). Was able to use complimentary umbrellas to use around town. Separate tub and walk in shower was nice touch, and wife enjoyed the hot water and water pressure. Wife especially enjoyed the complimentary chocolates. CON: Being a ritz, holding platinum elite status doesn't get much (i.e. no breakfast), wish the shower could have been just a tad larger as fitting 2 people in shower was a tight squeeze, sad that the gym cost extra, so I did not use gym (on the plus side other hotels probably would have just charged all guests a resort fee). Overall great experience, but I wouldn't come back at regular price."
