"Subject: ROOM #313 - UNPROFESSIONAL & INAPPROPRIATE MAINTENANCE MAN COMES IN AN PAID FOR & OCCUPIED HOTEL ROOM W/ DND SIGN I wanted to make you aware of an inappropriate incident that occurred yesterday at The Daytona Hotel in Daytona Beach, FL. On Friday, July 31st, 2026 - (between approximately 12:30pm & 12:40pm), my husband went to the front desk of the hotel to ask if it were possible to have a microwave in our hotel room. Apparently, the young lady at the front desk didn't know if there was one available and informed him that she would have to find one. I don't understand how we're paying over $300/night to stay in an 'executive suite' and there's no microwave to heat up food. But, it gets better. My husband then leaves the front desk. During this time, my child and I are in the hotel (unaware that housekeeping is coming up to our room to deliver a microwave). Please let me make this next statement perfectly clear. As a women (and half-dressed in my hotel room - and that we are paying more than $300/night to stay in), I am not expecting anyone but my husband to COME INTO my hotel room. There is a knock at the door and I CHOSE to not answer (nor do i have to). My husband has a cell phone and if he needs me, he knows how to call me. The person on the other side knocks again, and again does NOT announce that he's housekeeping (nor do i go to answer the door). I am half dressed and my child is in the room with me sleeping. Please know that as i write this next line, my hands are shaking because a man from housekeeping proceeds to open our hotel room and as he does so, I look up and he announces 'Housekeeping' as i yell at him, "NO NO NO, my husband is NOT here - NO NO NO". He then places a microwave on the floor then exits the room. WE HAVE THE DO NOT DISTURB SIGN ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE DOOR AND THIS MAN HAD NO RIGHT NOR ANY BUSINESS COMING INTO AN OCCUPIED AND PAID FOR HOTEL ROOM!!! When my husband returned back to the room, I told him what happened and he went back down to the front desk to complain. When we all got dressed and were ready to go, we all went down to the front desk because (as a woman), your front desk management/housekeeping needed to hear from ME AND HOW I FELT EXTREMELY VIOLATED that a man (from housekeeping) can come into a paid for and occupied hotel room that has a DO NOT DISTURB SIGN on the outside of the door. Being that the DND sign was on the outside of our hotel door, HOUSEKEEPING SHOULD HAVE LEFT THE MICROWAVE ON THE FLOOR OR RETURNED IT TO THE FRONT DESK. NO ONE FROM HOUSEKEEPING (ESPECIALLY A MAN) SHOULD HAVE COME INTO A PAID & OCCUPIED HOTEL ROOM - NOT KNOWING IF THERE WAS A WOMAN INSIDE!!! THIS IS EXTREMELY INAPPROPRIATE, UNACCEPTABLE, UNPROFESSIONAL, AND UNSAFE!!! YOU ALL SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES FOR ALLOWING THIS TYPE OF BEHAVIOR!!! MY FAMILY AND I WILL NEVER STAY AT YOUR HOTEL. IN TOTAL, MY HUSBAND AND I ARE PAYING ABOUT $1,000 TO STAY IN AN HOTEL WHERE WE DON'T KNOW WHO'S NEXT TO IGNORE A DND SIGN AND PROCEED TO COME INTO OUR ROOM. We tried to email the following employees, but was unable to 'email failure'. "I had high expectations for my stay at the Autograph. I visited here once about five years ago and remembered the hotel being modern and clean. Based on recent reviews, I expected it to live up to the praise. Before arriving, I made a few simple special requests — a feather-free room due to allergies, plus extra towels and toiletries since I declined housekeeping and wanted extras on hand. I even followed up by email beforehand. Aside from the feather-free room, none of the other requests were taken care of. Unfortunately, the room itself also felt far from clean or well maintained. There were fingerprints still visible around the room, the closet door was broken, and the bathroom was especially disappointing. The shower looked worn and dirty, particularly the grout. The shower door handle was loose, and the hose attached to the shower head was peeling apart. The sink cold faucet handle also leaked at the base. The toilet was also in rough shape, with the upper lid broken. What really bothered me was on the last day when I dropped something near the edge of the bed and found old nail clippings underneath. That was honestly gross and made me more than ready to leave after only three nights. The hotel didn’t even seem crowded during my stay, which made it even more disappointing that the room didn’t feel properly cleaned or prepared before our arrival."

"Hotel's located right across the street from the Daytona Speedway. The hotel adopts a motorway theme throughout. Outside is clean and maintained. Lobby's located on the 2nd floor, as well as the Blue Flame Bar & Restaurant. Check in process was uneventful. Staff was friendly. My request for a room on a high floor with a great view was accommodated. The patio overlooked the courtyard outside. Room was immaculate, as well as bathroom. Enclosed walk-in shower was large. Will definitely stay here in the future, as well as patronage the Blue Flame Bar, for drinks served by Fabian."
